Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is very practical. All the aspects of the course makes one ready for a career in Nautical and marine science. Though, the required level of theoretical knowledge is also imparted. A normal day can range from being okay to quite busy based on the classes that you have lined up for that particular day, sorry but there will be no "easy" days for you here. There will be one exam at the end of the diploma programme, for the certification of the degree.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement in our college boasts about 98% of students placed since its inception in 1998 from prominent shipping companies all over the world. The internship opportunities, however, college authorities do not directly look into and students can look for Internships on their own or through student run bodies.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for the diploma programme is a bit on the higher side with Rs.390,000 for the whole course: tution fee- Rs. 172,500; Admission fee- Rs. 20,000 ; Other fee- Rs. 197,500. Many people look for financial assistance and/or scholarship programs for paying the same.

Campus Life

One thing in which the institute differs from others is its focus on academics. You won't find many student run clubs or fun events, etc here. Though, diversity is clearly seen here with people from different social backgrounds attend the comment.

Admission

I got decent marks in my 10+2 exams, which were enough for the qualifying percentage of marks, including physics, chemistry and maths as the core subjects. Then, I had to sit for an entrance test, the test was a bit on the difficult side but my ample preparation made sure that I got over the 50% marks which were the cut off and I got selected in the university.

Faculty

4.5

As one might guess, the teachers here are very experienced and give a lot of impetus on discipline. Their way of teaching is in line with course structure. Most believe in providing real life example and experiences to make you learn. Apart from studies too, one can learn a lot from them- even how to lead one's life.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant as it contains useful concepts which a management student should know. And the concepts are very comprehensive and easy to understand. Examples are given in the curriculum which prepares us for the real world. Some teachers use the presentation based teaching which is good and should be encouraged. The exams are not that difficult for one who is atleast decent in studies.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

I don't know a lot about campus placements but I know that there is a training and placement cell in our college that provides good packages to many students. Some students got more than 7lpa last year. I will be doing my Post graduation after college and will make a career in academics.
