All of the diploma programs at Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute Of Engineering and Technology are affiliated to the West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development (WBSCT&VE&SD), Kolkata, and all B.Tech programs are affiliated to the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), West Bengal and thus course curriculum follows industry standards.Like other institute all courses are semester based each of which is of 6 months duration

Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute Of Engineering and Technology Library has built up a rich collection on various branches of Engineering, Science, Arts, and Management. The institute provide bus facility to its students from Malda Town from two pick up points ? Rathbari and Arabinda Park. The institute has a MoU with Moulik Nursing Home located nearby which is there to assist in case of emergency for 24 hours.

I being a resident of Malda district in West Bengal Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute Of Engineering and Technology was my obvious choice is choosing a college to undergo a 4 year B.Tech program. GKCIET admit students based on West Bengal Joint Entrance score as well as JEE-Main score couple with 60% marks in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Maths as compulsory subjects

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

My JEE scores were not sufficient for me to secure a seat in CSE in any college. Although i had applied to some semi government ones like IPU in delhi and had got a seat in ECE in the main campus, i opted for this one instead keeping the fee structure in mind. Also im a native bengali so i was not willing to travel to delhi for my academics. Though i regret that decision and would not recommend anyone to settle for a college nobody has heard of when you can have a better one instead. I had been selected for NIT Agartala as well in Mechanical branch but ofc i opted for a better branch. I mostly relied on Josaaa and Csab for my admission as my primary preference was to get into a government college so all of it depended on my jee scores which was not so great...Read More
