Remarks
The college gave me a good exposure to research and provided the best of facilities with minimal fees. The course seem easier and interesting with great staff and facilities. The quality of education and the ground provided was the best and I feel obligated to be a part of this family.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is divided into 3 years and is very flexible and stress free. It provides proper co=ordination between the course and research work. Regular tests along with the viva sessions and presentations were taken on a regular basis. Every month used to be a final report submission about the paper which we were working on. The core subjects were taught with the non core subjects like communication skills and BS.
Placement Experience
The institute was mainly for research and hence no placements were organised by the college. The scope after the course was however high. You can apply to various disciplines in agricultural departments as a teacher and continue the research, many government jobs are available for the same, the students can also work in MNCs providing agricultural facilities.
College Events
All the events like festivals, cultural fests, sports day, annual day, sports day and ceremonies like farewell and freshers were organised by the university. The institute offered various excursion trips and hosts the agricultural festivals on a wide scale. The diversity of the college was celebrated through these events and we were able to work with different people from different backgrounds.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees is submitted annually and is totally feasible. The fees is taken as YEAR 1,YEAR 2 and YEAR 3 as ?8,850; ?5,950; ?5,950 respectively and total as ?20,750. The mode of submission is through Demand Draft or online methods through card payments.
Campus Life
The extracurricular included the sports we used to play in the ground like cricket, volleyball, basket-ball etc. The grounds were huge and were constructed nicely. The libraries and the labs were fully equipped with the latest facilities and technologies. We never ran out of the chemicals supply and the PCs had updated software wrt agriculture.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels were beautifully constructed and were separate for boys and girls. The rooms had all the basic essentials like a clean bed, a study table and one cupboard. You could get a single room or a sharing one. The washrooms were cleaned and had the English toilet facilities. The mess had strict timings and food was served accordingly, it was healthy and tasty. The security was tight around the hostel making it a safe and secure environment.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni meet used to happen once a year where our ex-seniors addressed us on their experiences and tell us about the work and exposure. Different perspectives were known and we used to analyse our researches with that of the seniors. All were very humble and helpful.
Admission
After clearing the entrance examination conducted by IARI, which was a 3 part paper about the basic agriculture and majors, i applied to the college through online mode. The application form was available online. After registering and attaching the required documents, i was called for the interview session. The interview was based on the research subject i wanted to pursue. Overall the selection was on the basis of entrance examination and interview taken, the first year fees was to be deposited on the onset of first day.
Faculty
The faculty at IIPR was very knowledgeable and noble. They always used to help and guide us through the tough work. Many teachers shared their reviews and other research papers and helped us to know the field better. Some of the scholars also enabled the college to take us on excursion trips where we could explore the Agricultural world more vividly.
