Remarks
The college is surrounded by beautiful scenery and has the purest air in the campus. With the increasing demand of experts in the food industry, this college shapes the life of a student by providing maximum expertise required to address the problems of the industry. It is a growing college in terms of animal husbandry and food sciences. One must consider it if he/she wants to gain extensive knowledge about the food industry.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum of B.Tech is designed in such a way that a student becomes competent in the food industry. It is a four-year degree program consisting of eight semesters. It also requires to do experimental learning in the last semester. Exams are conducted at the end of every semester.
Placement Experience
This course has a wide range of job prospects as there is a high demand for food technologists in the packaged food industry, food processing industries etc. I will get placed as an assurance manager, laboratory supervisor, food packaging manager etc. in the food packaging and processing industries. The university provides guidance in order to get internship.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The college is a government university which automatically makes the fee structure more feasible and affordable. The fees are paid at the starting of each academic year. The total fee for the course is 56,830 INR. Merit scholarship is awarded to the top ten meritorious students whereas merit cum means scholarship is given to the twelve financially backward students belonging to SC/ST category.
Campus Life
The university has well equipped gymnasium which is accessible to both the students as well as the teachers to maintain their fitness. It also has an auditorium facility available for all the staff members and the students. we are also encouraged to take part in National service schemes, art workshops etc.
Alumni/Alumna
I found the seniors very patient and helpful. They are actively encouraging us to perform better. They are available to guide us whenever we get stuck or commit any mistake. The college has a good alumni network but i have not personally interacted with anyone.
Admission
The admission procedure is regulated by the CEE of Kerela. I had to appear for Kerela Engineering Entrance Exam. Also, minimum of 50% in the 12th standard(PCM) and 50% specfically in Maths is needed to qualify for taking up the entrance exam. After qualifying the exam, I was called to complete the verification of documents. Later I got accommodated in B.tech course of the college.
Faculty
The faculty members of the college are highly experienced. They are mostly involved in conducting researches based on animal husbandry and veteran sciences. This makes their teaching pattern full of practical experiences. I found their teachings really insightful and was also added value to our education.
