The Alagappa University DDE is serving the student community for more than 25 years. Their aim is to give sector- specific and job oriented programmes to the students. You will have convenient exam centres across the state which will help you to write your semester exams.
Course Curriculum Overview
In the first year, we learn human physiology, nutrition, nutraceuticals, food service management,etc. We also have practicals for each of those papers. In the second year, we learn the various nutritional needs for each community and the application of dietetics to treat life style diseases. There are also practical classes. The PCP sessions are made mandatory to appear for semester exams.
Placement Experience
There is a placement cell in the university to guide the students for drives. Every year a large number of students get placed in top companies at the university. But the opportunities for the students studying in DDE mode is much lesser compared to those who study there in regular mode.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees for this course is about ?.20,000/- per year. The university gives 25% fee waiver to those who have done their UG/PG degree courses in Alagappa University. It is not mandatory to be in regular mode. You will be given concession even if you have studied in DDE mode.
Campus Life
The university encourages sports activities. We have health care cell, solar park, cell for competitive exams, grievance redressal cell, anti ragging cell. The university ensures the safety and welfare of each student inside the campus.
Hostel Facilities
The university has accommodation inside the campus separately for both boys and girls. There is a Personal Contact Program to be attended by every student to clear the degree course. During the PCP, the students are allowed to stay in hostel rooms.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is so big and they encourages us to come up with new ideas. They stay updated with the current trends and help us to learn all of them. They makes us feel like their family member.
Admission
The application form can be downloaded from their website or from any one of their approved learning centres. The enrollment for courses starts at January and July every year. The eligibility for this course is a UG degree in any science stream, but priority is given to UG in home science. To confirm the admission, you will be provided with an ID card and a enrollment number.
Faculty
The faculties of the university are highly skilled to handle each and every single concept of the course. The faculties of our department help us in clarifying all the doubts and show great concern towards every single student. You will never feel that you are studying in DDE.
