Course Curriculum Overview
The MA economics course follows the CBCSS based off Kannur University. The course has a total of four semesters with 16 credits per semester. There's a dissertation in the end of the course which has 7 credits and a viva exam based off it with 2 credits.
Placement Experience
With companies like Wipro, South Indian Bank, and Federal Bank coming for placement calls, students with potential can definitely find something that interests them. They have a dedicated team that works with finding potential employers and connecting them to students.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure of the course is average, my course cost me Rs. 4,045 + PTA Fund. Students have many facilities to avail fee concession as well as there are many scholarships for deserving students.
Campus Life
Our college has National Cadet Corps and NSS were you can volunteer. Walk with a Scholar provides you with mentorship and has orientations to help students with variety of issues. There are three other clubs you can join according to your wish.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel services are great but there is one hostel for boys and four for girls. The wardens are quite amicable and can be contacted at any decent time. Their phone numbers are even given in the website.
Admission
With an aggregated marks on fifty percent I got admitted to Nirmalagiri. I registered online under the Online Centralised Admissions and got into the Kannur University affiliated college. The rank list was then annouced and i presented my documents for verification and got in.
Faculty
The faculty was quite dedicated and friendly. We could always ask them for questions and doubts regarding the course. They were almost all the time available. As i was in a master's course self-study was important, but the faculty really helped us with the course.
