College management is good. But the hostel and mess system should be improved.The college life is very good and gives very good learning experience too.

Course Curriculum Overview
In Computer Science the Electives are changed each year almost. And the course material is updated yearly. The latest technology trends like Cloud Computing, Medical Imaging, Advanced networking(with LTE/4g) are few to name among the Elective offerings.
Internships Opportunities
I did internship in college itself. Regarding stipend: I obtained MHRD stipend which is given to all GATE qualified students. For internship many companies like amazon, ibm, samsung came.Also many companies come for placements and give internship offers to some students.
Placement Experience
Almost all the big software companies come to campus.For the core departments also its very good. Each year almost 150 companies come for placement. Package offered varies a lot. It may range from 3 lpa to 30 lpa.
College Events
Engineer takes place typically around the last week of October and Incident (a cultural festival) Online technical events at Engineer see participation from all over the world. The biggest intra-college event is called Crrescendo.
Fee Structure And Facilities
During our time it was feasible.But presently NITs might have increased the fees.NITK Surathkal fees is in general on the higher side compared to other NITs.

Many scholarships are given for the undergrad students.They could be college level or national level.For PG students standard MHRD scholarships are there.
Campus Life
Extracurricular: Awesome opportunities are there. Music club.Sports Room. Almost all kinds of sports are also playedLabs: Some labs have state of the art infrastructure. I would say its among the best in the country.Competitions : Many classical music show, debates, toastmaster events are organized. Robotics and other technical events are also organized
Hostel Facilities
Hostel 6 out of 10 (as per my experience)Mess 5 out of 10PGs are not available as surathkal is a very small town.Students need to stay in hostel itself.Hostel facility in our time was not very good.Mess food was very bad I would say. Things may have improved now.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network is big and spread all over the world.Seniors are helpful. And also one can find alumni in almost any company or university. Which is very helpful to many students.
Exam Structure
Attendance to the class and labs are must.But its not hectic. Students get ample time to pursue their extra curricular interests
Faculty
Very experienced faculties in almost every department. Some departments like ECE, Mech have some of the best faculties. In CSE faculties have very good industry collaborations and also for the students who are interested in research, many opportunities are there. Internships in very famous institutes of the world is a very common thing.
