Course Curriculum Overview
The B.Sc chemistry course is quite challenging, to be honest and I have been struggling a bit. Semester exams take place twice a year and both theory and practical exams are held to test our knowledge and practical application of what we learn.
Placement Experience
Fortunately, I have joined at a time when college is doing its best to revamp the placement cell. In keeping with the times. college has been hosting workshops and webinars, which have given us a good look into what is expected of us in the job market.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The B.Sc course fees is marginally more than the B.A course fees because of the requirement of labs. The tuition fee is Rs 3220 per annum and Rs 9660 in total. However, bear in mind this is only for academics and exam fees and hostel charges have not been included.
Campus Life
The college holds a number of events wherein we are free to showcase our talents like sports, arts, dancing and elocution. Besides that, the labs and library of the institute are two of the favourite places of students, because they are so well-equipped!
Alumni/Alumna
We have quite a few illustrious allumni from our college including Mrs Pranati Phukan, who is currently a state minister and Late Hiteswar Saikhia, who is an esteemed ex-Chief Minister of the state of Assam.
Admission
I secured admission in this college via merit list. I had to email an application replete with my details and marksheets to the administration. The B.Sc course takes only 300 students per batch and I was overjoyed when I saw my name on the first list.
Faculty
The faculty are definitely qualified and always eager to be of help. Despite such a large student teacher ratio, they will leave no stone unturned to make sure we are adapting well and working our way through the course.
