Course Curriculum Overview

The course is mainly research based . For your research this college is among the top . You have to present a thesis under your professor guidance . The college really focus on the practical approach of the students . The written exam purely test you on the thinking skills .

Placement Experience

After completing your PhD you can apply to reputed college and start your teaching career . PhD from my college adds up to you career stacks and trust me it is no joke to complete your PhD . The college placements really work on LOR (LETTER OF RECCOMENDATION) and if you have good connections then definitely you will be placed in a good place .

Fee Structure And Facilities

The course fee is feasible and it is around 30,000 - 50,000 INR . We really have ample of scholarship opportunities as well . The fee structure does not put any burden on the students and financially backward students.

Campus Life

Extracurricular activities and are good ,students are much enthusiastic for their extracurricular activities . The labs sports and all are good . Campus has a good football ground basketball ground badminton court in separate hostel for women and men. The only thing which need to change is we getting time to play .

Alumni/Alumna

Alumini assosciation was made recently and the seniors are very helpful .They provide us good guidance in academic as well as other path. We all are considered as a family in our college. We have a students union to support every programmes of students.

Admission

In order to take admission to this college you need to qualify GATE (Graduate Aptitute Test for Engineering) . You will have to apply for the college from the official website of the college . After you clear the exam then you are called for the personal interview .

Our college has a good panel of faculties,which include teaching and non teaching staff. All the faculties are well trained and efficient in their field. Most of the teaching staff are well qualified and they are very inspiring for all of us.

Placement Experience:

So from 7th semester plcements are starting.Various Tech and Non Tech companies are also coming like TCS ,Accenture, Cognizant, Delloitte, InfoSys, KFinTech, Incture, GyanSys, Iserveu for Tech branches. and PRADAN, Aditya Birla etc for Non tech branches. Students also getting offers from OffCampus like RedHat ,CISCO ,Amazon ,Google. From On Campus Highest Package goes upto 12 to 15LPA and lowest is 4.5 but average is 5 to 6 LPA which is comperable. And about almost all are who are opting for placements got placed eventually.

After 6th semester the students get eligible for company placement. There are huge companies visited every year for the placement and many big MNCs like Amazon offers 100seats , Wipro offers 200, detollite offers 100, microsoft offers 10, ITC offers 150 , Infosys offers 300, TCS offers 200, Flipkart offers 150 and many more . Every year almost 80% of the students get placed at a good company with a minimum of 4 lakhs . After getting the degree I am planning to get placed in a multi national company like Amazon or Microsoft

See basically you placement depends on you .If you work hard you will get placed with a good package.In our college last year the avg package for CSE was around 13 Lakh per annum and highest was about 39 lakh per annum.Companies like Amazon,oracle Microsoft etc visited our college .After 4 th or 5 th semester i Think we are all capable of getting placed .

In 5th semester the campus is coming to give you jobs. The company are vedant ltd, jsw, tata, reliance etc, outside companies also come. Maruti Suzuki. 60 to 70 per cent of students gate the job. I am also job junior engineer at Tata.

Courses and instructors are good, but don't expect a rocking campus life here.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this college without planning as I couldn't get a desired seat in IIT. But I think it was for good. The course is a wonderful primer on the path of becoming a scientist. Compared to other colleges, IISER Berhampur has a quite good faculty: student ratio. But most of them are pretty good as people and as teachers. We manage to conduct all classes without fail. But I'd like to see an increase in the number so that the research area can be broadened. The faculty here have all completed their Ph.D. and postdoc and all have some good prior experience in research and teaching. I like most of the instructors that have taught me except for a few one or two. The exam schedule is given right with the calendar release of each semester before the semester starts. Sometimes there might be changes in the schedule but we are informed around 2-3 weeks earlier in that case. Exams are not hard to pass if you attend classes and study sincerely. Questions are not asked beyond the concepts being taught.

Life at BGU

Placement Experience:

After the summer internship. The college started giving campus placement training and during the month of September, students got placement already. Companies like TATA AIG, Collegedunia, Federal Bank, Delloite, ADP, TCI, SIS, HDFC AMC. IDFC BANK. Practo, ADVARISK, AXIS BANK. Property pistol came and took a maximum of students. The highest package was offered by international companies like property pistol with 22 lac CTC and average being 5lacs. Mostly the profile was on sales and marketing. only a few fintech companies could recruit students. Till now around 96% of students are placed in different domains and already started working. I am fortunate enough to get placed in the FEDERAL bank with 10lac CTC and as a fresher joining such a big company will be extremely grateful to the college and its placement team. They personally look after students drawback by the feedback they get from the recruitment teams and suggest where to improve and give a number of opportunities to seat for the company.

Remarks:

All are good,but only fooding quality is below the level.And also it does not have any playground available to play outdoors games.only it have not a playground but this college have good class room,WiFi campus, Computer centre,canteen, language lab and hostel are there.
