Remarks

Our college is situated in the heart of beautiful city of Bhubaneswar. Our institute is collaborated with CDFD, Hyderabad and has many latest equipments needed for research works. Our college has various facilities like library, labs, auditorium, cafeteria, medical facilities and so on. Our institute also has an animal house, green house, zebra fish facility and several animal/plant cell culture facilities.

Course Curriculum Overview

It is a 3 years doctorate level course. This course provides a deep knowledge in uses of living organisms in engineering and technology. This course includes submission of thesis, presentations, research work, visits and so more. Overall the course is little hectic as one have to take deep knowledge of everything related to topic and have to present a thesis.

Placement Experience

All students are get placed after this course. Some of my seniors got placed by college placement while some placed by their own. There are many recuriting pharma and research companies visit our campus for placement like Nestem technologies, Biotech, amul, nestle and much more. Students placed in these companies as a clinical project manager, process engineer, quality assurance & control executive etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very feasible and relevant to pay for anyone. Fee structure depends on the subject and topic student want to do Phd. Fee can be pay by NEFT or through online banking. Students can pay their fees in installments.

Campus Life

There are many extracurricular activities organised by college for students includes seminars, interactive guest lectures, presentations, poster- making competitions, quizs & olympidas, national & international conferences and much more. There are different clubs and societies for particular activities and events like sports club, cultural and social societies, debate and group- discussions clubs and much more. These all events and activities help us a lot in growing our confidence and in improving our skills.

Admission

I did Ph.d as I always want to do higher studies in field of biotechnology. I want to research on various topics related to biotechnology as this course provides a huge opportunity to research. I got admission in this course on the basis of my marks in Master's and by qualifying the entrance exam followed by interview.

Faculty

Faculties are helpful and supportive here. In this course students have to do everything by their own. But still someone needs faculties advice, teachers are always ready to help everyone by guiding them. All teachers are highly educated and doctorate here. All are down to earth except few ones.

Placement Experience:

So from 7th semester plcements are starting.Various Tech and Non Tech companies are also coming like TCS ,Accenture, Cognizant, Delloitte, InfoSys, KFinTech, Incture, GyanSys, Iserveu for Tech branches. and PRADAN, Aditya Birla etc for Non tech branches. Students also getting offers from OffCampus like RedHat ,CISCO ,Amazon ,Google. From On Campus Highest Package goes upto 12 to 15LPA and lowest is 4.5 but average is 5 to 6 LPA which is comperable. And about almost all are who are opting for placements got placed eventually.

After 6th semester the students get eligible for company placement. There are huge companies visited every year for the placement and many big MNCs like Amazon offers 100seats , Wipro offers 200, detollite offers 100, microsoft offers 10, ITC offers 150 , Infosys offers 300, TCS offers 200, Flipkart offers 150 and many more . Every year almost 80% of the students get placed at a good company with a minimum of 4 lakhs . After getting the degree I am planning to get placed in a multi national company like Amazon or Microsoft

Courses and instructors are good, but don't expect a rocking campus life here.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this college without planning as I couldn't get a desired seat in IIT. But I think it was for good. The course is a wonderful primer on the path of becoming a scientist. Compared to other colleges, IISER Berhampur has a quite good faculty: student ratio. But most of them are pretty good as people and as teachers. We manage to conduct all classes without fail. But I'd like to see an increase in the number so that the research area can be broadened. The faculty here have all completed their Ph.D. and postdoc and all have some good prior experience in research and teaching. I like most of the instructors that have taught me except for a few one or two. The exam schedule is given right with the calendar release of each semester before the semester starts. Sometimes there might be changes in the schedule but we are informed around 2-3 weeks earlier in that case. Exams are not hard to pass if you attend classes and study sincerely. Questions are not asked beyond the concepts being taught.

Placement Experience:

After the summer internship. The college started giving campus placement training and during the month of September, students got placement already. Companies like TATA AIG, Collegedunia, Federal Bank, Delloite, ADP, TCI, SIS, HDFC AMC. IDFC BANK. Practo, ADVARISK, AXIS BANK. Property pistol came and took a maximum of students. The highest package was offered by international companies like property pistol with 22 lac CTC and average being 5lacs. Mostly the profile was on sales and marketing. only a few fintech companies could recruit students. Till now around 96% of students are placed in different domains and already started working. I am fortunate enough to get placed in the FEDERAL bank with 10lac CTC and as a fresher joining such a big company will be extremely grateful to the college and its placement team. They personally look after students drawback by the feedback they get from the recruitment teams and suggest where to improve and give a number of opportunities to seat for the company.

All are good,but only fooding quality is below the level.And also it does not have any playground available to play outdoors games.only it have not a playground but this college have good class room,WiFi campus, Computer centre,canteen, language lab and hostel are there.
