SRM Dental College is the perfect place. They offer really good specializations in the Masters degree-MDS. A lot of well-trained and renowned dentists often come visit the SRM campus. Overall, it is a great experience.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is really rigorous. The days are not exactly hectic, but you need to be able to keep up with your course work and teaching materials on a regular basis. Also, there is a lot of scope to gain practical knowledge. Teachers offer a lot of help. MDS exams are held once at the end of the first year and again at the end of the third year.
Placement Experience
Placements are pretty good. After doing an MDS course, you can expect really good jobs in Dental colleges and hospitals in a lot of places. There is a lot of experimental work done in this course, along with research requirements so you graduate with a lot of knowledge. No compulsory internship is there for MDS course.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Depending on your specialization, there is a change in the fee structure. Fees are pretty high. They range from anywhere between 9,00,000 lakh rupees to 13,00,000 lakh rupees per year. There may also be additional clinical fees.
Campus Life
Extracurricular activities are very much encouraged at SRM. Lots of emphasis on the sports, and they often have intra college sports like caroms and chess. Other sports like basketball and throwball are also encouraged.
Admission
SRM Dental College is pretty reputed in Tamil Nadu. I opted for my MDS course in this college for that reason. Admission for the MDS course is based upon the NEET PG exam rankings. A merit list is created, and counseling is done for the students.
Faculty
Faculty is amazing. They are simply superb. Really experienced in the field and there are regular parent-staff meetings to discuss the progress of the student based upon their results from the examinations. They really care for the students.
