Remarks

ILS is one of the best research centres in odhisa.... research quality is good but it depends on which project are you working and who will be your supervisor. Institute conduct lots of seminars and cultural activities. Some projects have collaborations with NISER. Overall the institute is best in all aspects whether it is research or academics.

Course Curriculum Overview

Ph.d is a 3-5 year doctoral course. This course includes studies of use of living organisms in engineering, technology, medicine and other fields requiring bio-products. This course involves lots of researches, workshops, presentations, book writings and much more. On completion of this course students have to submit their thesis after that they deserve the degree. Overall this course offers so much to students. The course is little hectic as it is a doctorate course and requires so much passion and hardwork in students.

Placement Experience

I am fully satisfied with placements offered by institute. In our time, 7 to 8 core companies visited the campus which included Strand Life Sciences, TCS, R&D etc. Also, students are allowed to appear for some non-core companies (banks etc) which are open for all branches. Maximum package at our time was around 5.5 LPA. As now I am working with Biocon, placed by college and earning well.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure of this course is according to chosen subjects for course. Overall the fess is not expensive here, it is quite feasible to pay for anyone. Students can easily pay their fees by NEFT or through online banking.

Campus Life

There are many extracurricular offered by institute includes- poster making competitions, presentations, poem-shayari contest, antakshari, seminars, national & international conferences, project making competitions and so more. These all activities give students little entertainment and enjoyment. And these all activities benefit us by giving improvment in our personalities as well as skills.

Admission

I select this programme because I always wanted to do higher studies in biotechnology and after ph.d there are many big opportunities are offered. I got admission in this course on the basis of my percentage in Masters and by qualifying Entrance exam followed by interview.

Faculty

This is a course of higher education. So only few faculties help and support students. Faculties in our college are highly educated and highly experienced. They all are well versed in their particular subjects. Some are supportive while some are egoistic too.

Placement Experience:

So from 7th semester plcements are starting.Various Tech and Non Tech companies are also coming like TCS ,Accenture, Cognizant, Delloitte, InfoSys, KFinTech, Incture, GyanSys, Iserveu for Tech branches. and PRADAN, Aditya Birla etc for Non tech branches. Students also getting offers from OffCampus like RedHat ,CISCO ,Amazon ,Google. From On Campus Highest Package goes upto 12 to 15LPA and lowest is 4.5 but average is 5 to 6 LPA which is comperable. And about almost all are who are opting for placements got placed eventually.

After 6th semester the students get eligible for company placement. There are huge companies visited every year for the placement and many big MNCs like Amazon offers 100seats , Wipro offers 200, detollite offers 100, microsoft offers 10, ITC offers 150 , Infosys offers 300, TCS offers 200, Flipkart offers 150 and many more . Every year almost 80% of the students get placed at a good company with a minimum of 4 lakhs . After getting the degree I am planning to get placed in a multi national company like Amazon or Microsoft

Courses and instructors are good, but don't expect a rocking campus life here.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this college without planning as I couldn't get a desired seat in IIT. But I think it was for good. The course is a wonderful primer on the path of becoming a scientist. Compared to other colleges, IISER Berhampur has a quite good faculty: student ratio. But most of them are pretty good as people and as teachers. We manage to conduct all classes without fail. But I'd like to see an increase in the number so that the research area can be broadened. The faculty here have all completed their Ph.D. and postdoc and all have some good prior experience in research and teaching. I like most of the instructors that have taught me except for a few one or two. The exam schedule is given right with the calendar release of each semester before the semester starts. Sometimes there might be changes in the schedule but we are informed around 2-3 weeks earlier in that case. Exams are not hard to pass if you attend classes and study sincerely. Questions are not asked beyond the concepts being taught.

Placement Experience:

After the summer internship. The college started giving campus placement training and during the month of September, students got placement already. Companies like TATA AIG, Collegedunia, Federal Bank, Delloite, ADP, TCI, SIS, HDFC AMC. IDFC BANK. Practo, ADVARISK, AXIS BANK. Property pistol came and took a maximum of students. The highest package was offered by international companies like property pistol with 22 lac CTC and average being 5lacs. Mostly the profile was on sales and marketing. only a few fintech companies could recruit students. Till now around 96% of students are placed in different domains and already started working. I am fortunate enough to get placed in the FEDERAL bank with 10lac CTC and as a fresher joining such a big company will be extremely grateful to the college and its placement team. They personally look after students drawback by the feedback they get from the recruitment teams and suggest where to improve and give a number of opportunities to seat for the company.

All are good,but only fooding quality is below the level.And also it does not have any playground available to play outdoors games.only it have not a playground but this college have good class room,WiFi campus, Computer centre,canteen, language lab and hostel are there.
