About National Fire service College

This college is under Ministry of Home affairs, Government of India, purely funded by the government of India, and affiliated to RTM Nagpur university. NFSC falls under the definitions of Central Institutions. The college offers B.E (Fire Engineering) requires strenuous fire ground operation involving physical activities, training of various natures, and that too in uniform, the applicant are required to possess specific medical and physical standards. Course duration is of 3 ½ years for which B.Sc. is the essential qualification. Merit of all eligible candidates is based on All India Rank in the JEE (Main) examination allotment by CBSE, and the percentile scores of the candidate in the respective Board of education. The job opportunities are very wide and almost all students get placement in the final semester in leading organisations such as BPCL, IOC, GAIL. The B.E. (Fire Engineering) course differs from other engineering course, conducted in other normal engineering college. The physical and medical standard stipulated as qualitative requirements for the course substantiates and reflects this fact. Hence, the candidates are expected to adhere to strict discipline while undergoing, the course and prepare to attend morning and evening parades and drills while undergoing the class room study during day hours. The B.E. (Fire Engineering) course in NFSC is an Uniformed course. Most renowned and dedicated faculties are handling the sections and rigorous and regular internal examinations were held. The faculties are covering the sections in planned manner and adequate time is given for the students to prepare for the examinations. Hostel facilities are excellent and mandatory. Students can avail this facility very economically. Recreational activities are also available in hostel which can be availed free of cost.

Each students are evaluated from time to time and internal examinations is conducted. The weak candidates on curriculum is given extra coaching and advises. Applied psychology ad legal subjects are also taught here and hence this college shape a better citizen altogether. As a part of the curriculum, the candidates are given the option of visiting the leading industries in India and they can select the project work did at these prestigious institution almost free of cost. These project works are infact evaluated at these industries and attractive remunerations are given to the credible students performed for achieving that project.

The college is possessing many positive point like 100% placement in leading organisations of India like IOC, HPCL ONGC, GAIL, SAIL and BPCL. The college infrastructure and academic performance was excellent. The last semester is very critical and the companies are coming for recruitment in this period. Candidate has to prepare for GD and interview in the college campus and selected candidate will be given the placement letter on completion of the course. In my batch everybody got placed in companies like IOC, SAIL, BPCL and ONGC. We got around 25000 rupees as the starting basic pay. The recruitment is directly on probation. The college guides you to prepare for the campus interview and management is very enthusiastic in inviting the leading organisation of India to visit the campus for recruitment. The overall atmosphere of the college and the facilities are accepted by these organisations and hence they are giving top priority for selection of candidates from this college.

Very reasonable tuition fee of only 24000 per year is charged. Hostel fee is also very reasonable is coming out to be only 9000 per semester. The Messing charges would be applicable at prevailing rates of contract which shall include Morning Tea, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The messing charges are to be paid to the mess operator in advance before the commencement of the each semester. . All the reservation as applicable in central government institution is followed here subjects to the fulfillment of the eligibility criteria specified by respective authorities from time to time. College helps to arrange for the scholarship and educational loan for the eligible candidates. Educational loan at an attractive rate of interest is given to candidates by leading public sector banks. There is no facility like stipend from the college but educational loan is sufficient enough to meet with the expenses. One can really enjoy the facilities here

The college is having one of the best libraries in the field of fire and safety. It houses thousand of books and continues to grow dynamically with the latest updates. Besides technical books, it contains national and international journals from many organizations, research papers and project reports. In NFSC library about 10,000 technical and other allied books are available. The College also subscribed to a large number of journals and magazines relating to fire engineering like USA and UK also from many premier institutions like NFPA, IFE, BIS and LPA from India. The Laboratory consists of qualified laboratory personnel. With the aid of latest instrument and equipment, the competent staff can exhibit the chemical action and counter-reaction of various fire prevention measures to be adopted in the presence of different hazardous chemicals and electrical equipment, are also exhibited in this laboratory. The hostel is well equipped with sports and other recreational activities

Rs. 9,000/- per semester per candidate for the sharing accommodation is charged here. At present single room accommodation is not available. The college is upgrading its hostel facilities which is nearing completion, on occupying the new accommodation at a later stage the hostel fees are likely to be revised also. Gd is conducted among the students on subjects related to the current affairs. The GD is managed by the college facilitators and well controlled by them. Once cleared the Gd, the selected candidate shall have to appear for the physical tests and medical examination. On clearing the physical and medical examinations, candidates will be given the admission to join the course. Local coaching units are available in major cities who make you capable to attend the GD. Overall experience in curriculum subjects is well ascertained and be given weightage during the selection of the candidates.
