IIHR is a research driven institution which places emphasis on producing the highest quality of products. The 160 hectare of land that IIHR provides is one of the best place to run different experiment and research projects.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is reasonably flexible and vigorous. The guides and mentors take good care of their mentees and provide them useful help for their research purposes. Developing new concepts and producing quality products is thoroughly emphasized upon.
Placement Experience
There are a lot of vacant posts in IIHR itself such as the technical posts at ICAR-IIHR and its sub stations on permanent basis and many others that can be filled by the students once they complete their PhD.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is mostly feasible for the majority of the Indians as for a 3 year PhD course, one has to shell out only Rs.21000 which is a rounded of figure. It includes the admission fees, tuition fees, and other fees.
Campus Life
There are people form all over India at IIHR who are passionate about horticulture. This provides a very comforting environment for everyone at IIHR because there are no boundaries to ones culture as there are so many people of different cultures working together in the same space. Research on different items in the laboratories with so many other enthusiastic researches is a whole another experience.
Admission
The selection of a candidate is done on the basis of the candidate's academic records, entrance exam result, and interview. There is a provision for different weightage criteria for candidates and to qualify for the interview, the minimum marks for the entrance exam is 50% for general and 45% for reserved category students.
Faculty
The faculty is very helpful and has a deep knowledge about their respective fields. They are highly qualified and focus on overall individual learning of their students. They keep regular check over their mentees and are ever ready to provide any assistance they can give. Many of the faculty members are still actively publishing research papers which shows how sincere they are towards their work.
