Remarks

You will experience the whole South Asia in one place. The diversity is huge. The curriculum is very updated. So if you are thinking about studying IR, SAU is a good place for you. Because of the students coming from different SAARC countries, you will different perspectives of a similar issues

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum of my major, International relations is up to date. It covers all the major issues and theories of past and of the present dates. The curriculum of first two semesters is more focused on the theory part to give students a good understanding of subject and lay down the foundation of basic principles of IR. however the next two semester is focused heavily on the research part, from teaching research methodologies to writing a dissertation independently under a supervisor from the faculty. The grades will be evaluated based on your performance in surprise quizzes, term papers, two tests . however in the last two semesters, you have to write a thesis or do research along with all above mentioned things to pass the semester.

Placement Experience

3.5

I can only speak on the behalf of my major. SAU doesn?t provide any internship . however with the IR major, you can easily do many internship around the capitol city , around the country and even around the globe. There are many major prominent think tanks in Delhi, like NMF, ICWA etc which offers summer internships or you can write for an newspaper or foreign affairs magazines. Even tho SAU doesn?t provide any internship or job, but the faculty members through their networks can help you with internship and job process

College Events

5

The faculty often organized many seminars and workshops with many prominent scholars of IR as the guest lecturers in these events . Apart from this, EUROPHIA is our main university festival. And we do some other good cultural events like SAARC festivals, celebration of Afghanistan?s independence etc. Students from other universities can also attend these festivals , so don?t hesitate to tag your friends along with you.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee of SAU is bit expensive than its counterparts especially if you are a Non- SAARC student. The total fee for SAARC student for 2 years is around 3 LACS INR(US$ 3960), while for Non- SAARC student is around 29 lacs INR(US$ 38600 ).

Fees and Financial Aid

SAU provides many scholarships for the students who are serious about their studies. Most of them are based on your performance on entrance exam. Anyone who top the entrance exam will definitely get the scholarship with monthly stipend to support his/her studies. However this would last for only one year, your scholarship will renew on the basis of your academic performance in your previous academic year.

Campus Life

The student diversity is huge in SAU, which is what I love about this university. You will get the first hand experience all the cultures of different south asian countries and their authentic food(this part is very important). Fresher party to welcome new students or Farewell party to say goodbye to your seniors , are the main events to know each other better. Having this huge diversity in the university, this will prepared you for future to adjust in new culture easily without having a huge culture shock

Hostel Facilities

Hostel is pretty decent and the fee is affordable which is around 5k INR per semester(excluding mess). You will have access to free wifi . One room is shared by three students. Rooms are pretty big, well ventilated with an attached clean and sanitized bathroom. You will get your own closet, study table and most important power plug. The food of hostel mess is pretty decent too. The mess fee range from 3.5k to 5.5k INR per month

Admission

One of my aim, since I choose humanities in my school days is to work in United Nations. So after i graduate from DU with the major in Political science. I decided to go for international relations, that?s how I ended up in SAU. The admission process is just like any other major university. You have to pass an entrance exam for any master program in SAU. The application form for the entrance exam usually released out around February or first week of March on SAU website

Faculty

4.5

All the faculty members have pretty experienced in the course they teach. Most of the faculty members have PhDs from JNU and have adequate experience in teaching and the faculty network is pretty good too and well connected with other IR scholars around the globe.

Placement Experience:

Placements at my college are average, students become eligible from around the 5th semester. A few companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in entry level positions. The average package is moderate, while higher package are limited. Around 70 to 80% of students get placed. I plan to focus on skill development and explore better opportunities after completing my degree.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant as it contains useful concepts which a management student should know. And the concepts are very comprehensive and easy to understand. Examples are given in the curriculum which prepares us for the real world. Some teachers use the presentation based teaching which is good and should be encouraged. The exams are not that difficult for one who is atleast decent in studies.

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.
