Remarks
There is nothing negative about the overall functioning of the College. The subject is vast and difficult, but the College authorities take care in maintaining a peaceful atmosphere for the growth of the students.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is good but there are a lot of subjects to learn same as MBBS. The syllabus is vast and every day seems to be hectic. There is no time for any other refreshment. Examinations are held up-to-date and is followed by practicals. There are internal exams too to test the knowledge of students.
Placement Experience
Nursing is such a job which calls for a lot of opportunities. The number of diseases or patients is increasing day by day and the number of nurses too is increasing in the process. After completing the course, students could join either in any private hospital or any of the government institutions. Internship is mandatory and provides a Stipend of Rs.10000.
College Events
More emphasis is on academics, but still there are various events in the College. Annual Day is grand with different cultural programs. Exhibitions too are held in the college. Other than these, there are seminars and workshops for the students.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure in IRT College for Nursing is quite expensive. The course duration is 3 yrs and 6 months and total fee is around Rs.80000 per year. Many of the students find it difficult to afford the fees, but there is an assurance of job and hence everyone sacrifices to pay such an amount.
Campus Life
IRT college is good in providing facilities to the students. There are facilities for counselling, laboratory and a perfect library that helps the students to attain knowledge. The number of girls is more than the number of boys and Gender equality is maintained in the College campus.
Hostel Facilities
Yes I've opted for hostel and everything is okay here. Despite the hectic schedule, we're able to enjoy during the hostel hours. Food and other necessary requirements are okay and much freedom is given to us. We host different cultural programs and enjoy to get a relaxation from the heavy syllabus.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes there's an Alumni network and they are in constant touch with the College. They offer a helping hand in every aspect of the College and donates for its welfare. Senior students are having a friendly contact with the juniors. They guide and provides all necessary notes to the students.
Admission
There is no other noble job as Nursing. To be a lady with lamp, to be a hand of hope was my dream since childhood. Thus I joined IRT Perundurai Medical College for Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery. Admission procedure was straightforward, it was on the basis of the marks obtained in 10+2 or any other equivalent examination. There's also an interview before admitting for the course.
Faculty
The faculty of IRT College is very supportive. Their mode of teaching is elaborative and describes everything in detail. Teachers are experienced and they are very much interested in broadening our knowledge level. They constantly ask us whether we need any help and is ready to lend a helping hand at any time.
