Best College life in BU

My course included research thesis work, fieldwork practice and block placement. Also, the college provided an internship of 1 month in an organisation for brief knowledge of the course. My course was well maintained with topics like Introduction to Social Work and Society, Social Group Work, Social Work Research and Social Statistics, Social Welfare Administration, Social Policies, and Social Legislations, Human Growth and Personality Development.

The placement was the best part of my college because students were given internship and job opportunities in these organizations such as Spastic Society, ATHMA-Institute of Mental Health and Social Sciences, Vishranthi ? Mental Health Centre, District Disabled Rehabilitation Office (DDRO), Mercy Hospital, Trichy Diabetic speciality centre, Saranya Hospital, C.S.I Mission Hospital and Manasnmithra Vidhya Peetam.

My fees structure for the complete course was INR 34,300. which was very less from the other college in the city. The college was a government college so there focus was only towards the education of students, they were not in the process of making money from the students just like private colleges. The college had scholarship facility too such as Government of Tamilnadu Scholarship for the Distance Learning Students Belonging to Christian Adidravidar, Government of India Scholarship for SC and ST Students and Government of India Scholarship for Minority Students.

College was very good at sports and extracurricular activities as we had a yoga centre, well-equipped gymnasium, an indoor and outdoor stadium with the games like weight lifting, table tennis, Basket Ball, chess, Kabadi, carom, kho-kho and Net Ball. Apart from this a central library facility with high-speed internet and computer system, transport facility for the staff and students who comes from rural areas, A well-accomodated hostel and mess facility for both boys and girls provided by the authority.

For me admission criteria were simple, I completed my undergraduate degree from this college with good marks. I went to the admission cell and filled the application form, the admission was given on the base of merit list, being a student from the same college I got an advantage from the college side. after all the document formalities my admission was done.

Faculty was an important part of a university who plays a vital role in students life. Dr R. Mangaleswaran who was Professor and Head of college was one of the best faculty members of my university. he was such a good human being and with years of experience, he had a treasure of knowledge. Time to time he used to invigilate our classes and course to confirm everything was running well.
