Training Ship Rahaman Review

This is a 3 year course and is held at Nhava Campus. There are 2 semesters every year and a total of 6 in the entire course. The course is mainly practice based and requires a lot of hands-on experience. Fifth semester is completely industrial training. The students are given maximum training with workshop practices, safety courses, drills etc. along with a very disciplined routine. 90% attendance is a must and exams are conducted by the University of Mumbai.

There are plenty of internship and job opportunities provided by the institution. Our fifth semester assessment is completely based on the internship we have to undertake. Many recruiters visit the college to offer jobs and the salary package and stipend depends on how big the recruiters are.

At the time of admission I paid an amount of Rs. 30,000. The fee has to be remitted at the beginning of every year. I pay Rs. 187600p.a.. This is in case you require hostel facilities. If not the fee would be Rs. 135000. The fee is reasonable for the most part and is completely worth it.

The institution has all kinds of sport activities. They want the cadets to be physically fit and active. Therefore, all types of physical activities are appreciated. The infrastructure and other amenities provided are also pretty standard. We have a gymnasium, library, poultry and dairy farm etc. Many cultural events happen at the institution. Special days like Independence day are celebrated with huge respect and zest.

I did opt for hostel accommodation. Hostel has pretty strict rules that you have to follow no matter what. There's a time table for food which will be put up on the notice board. The hostel rooms are cabins that are to be shared. Hygiene is top notch in the hostel and food provided is also of good quality. Hostel is inside the campus itself.

My admission process was smooth and straightforward. Firstly, I submitted my application with necessary documents. Based on the application, most importantly 12th grade performance they would announce the merit list. After that, I had to undergo a Medical Fitness Test by a DGS approved medical practitioner. They would also check whether the student has an eye sight of 6/12 in each eye. After these medical checkups, they would announce the results.

We have a highly qualified batch of faculty. They are mainly discipline oriented but are also there to help the students out and lead them in the right way. They also have years of expertise in the field which really helps the students. Their classes are interactive and they know how to mold the students properly to fit into this discipline.
