Remarks

When i joined this college with no expectations. Though my parents were happy as i was going to pursue my dreams. But when i came here, i was submerged into so many activities that i started liking the environment very much. There are scientists(BARC & ISRO), researchers, Entrepreneurs, Businessmen, Government Officials as alumni network. My college has won gold medals in World Skills, representing INDIA globally! And our senior Aishwaryan Bhaiya, currently a 4th year Electrical Engineering B.Tech student, winner of Google Coding Competition against coders from all IITs, and has discovered an algorithm copyrighted by him. The campus of CVRGU is around the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. A mall is 1km from the gate, though we have access of all the basic facilites in campus and outside too. There are 3 Auditoriums. The only BAD AREAS i would say are poor Management and only 2-3 annual fests.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The thing is that the curriculum is a little different from all the colleges in Odisha, and is more practical. There is an SSEPL Training program for 3 yrs. which provides skills based on the Branch of study. Currently i am doing AutoCAD training under SSEPL. There are programs irrespective of branch, like cloud computing, Networking, Languages like Python, Java, etc. for aspiring students. The faculty and education system is one of the best reasons to choose this college. Its one of the best in India I'd say. We've had MHRD, including Mr. Prakash Javedkar and several Directors helping in developing the best study environment. Most of the Faculties are phD. Doctorates from different IITs. Student to Faculty ratio= 500:1. The classes are strictly in English so the International students don't have any difficulty. There is one huge of a library containing GATE materials, Newspapers, magazines, e-libraries. Exams are conducted online as well as offline. Marks are posted online on website.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are huge amount of Internships. Some of my friends did internship in their 1ST YEAR itself! The stipend depends. Till now I haven't done any internship but my friends were happy with the experience they gained. There is also Food Internship, for all those foodies. Internshala also conducts all the internships for our college.

Placement Experience

4

The placement is best in any private college in Odisha, i can say this as I've seen it. On campus placements are from 4-5 lakhs minimum to 10-11 lakhs. Most of my seniors were placed around 7 to 9 lakhs. No other private college has such placement gamut. Though there are students placed for 30-40 lakhs off-campus. So the average Package is 5 LPA. Though it depends on you. Aishwaryan Bhaiya was Placed in OnePlus in third year (off campus). Placement companies are all those major MNCs like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, L&T, Bosch, Tech Mahindra, etc. Though i am preparing for Government Exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since the college is now a Global University, the fees have been increased a little than before. Though there are all the scholarships available from the Odisha Govt. as well as the University based on merit as well as performance. The Union Bank of India branch integrated with college does provide education loans while admissions. There are huge amount of Internships. Some of my friends did internship in their 1ST YEAR itself! The stipend depends. Though the living cost is moderate and the hostel and mess fees is worth it.

Campus Life

4

There are 2-3 annual fests, CELEGANCE being the best. Different colleges participate in several competitions. The tech fest is also quite interesting with coding competitions, circuit designing, etc. We aren't required to purchase the books, we can issue it from the library with the use of ID cards. Competitive exam books, newspapers magazines, journals, research papers, and several interesting things can be found in the library. There are clubs like RAAG Music Club (I'm a member of it), Dance clubs and groups, 3 Musical Bands, Official Charity and Social workers network, And the very famous ANUBHUTI DRAMATIC CLUB, which the currently the BEST students' drama company in ODISHA, and has also won several positions and fame nationally, in many IITs and colleges. For sports, There is annual sports meet every year. There is a well maintained CRICKET mini-STADIUM, a swimming pool(i love swimming), a basketball court, a volleyball court, a football ground. All the classrooms are smart class.

Hostel Facilities

4

There are 3 boys hostels and one New hostel under construction. I chose the apartment hostels (non-AC). They are actually the best in Business. I never regretted paying 77K for that. There are washing machines, common hall, regularly cleaning (every 2-3 days) of rooms, RO water, Balconies, One bathroom/toilet for every 4 students, attached bathroom rooms available. the rest 2 hostels cost around 67000 (non-AC) but it not like apartment, there is common bathroom for one floor. Also there is AC room in Apartment which costs around 1,07,000 per year. Washing machines are specially for AC accommodators. Registration for hostel can be done while Admission Process. Also there are options for Hostels outside campus. The hostels outside are more affordable. But I'd suggest to take the campus hostel for the first year, then you can switch next year. The mess is also the best very well managed, sanitized, bio-gas plant for waste management and energy production. BUT the FOOD quality is NOT BEST.

Interview Experience

3.5

I got through the JEE mains for counselling in OJEE. OJEE too conducts examination for the admissions but only for its State students. But now being a University, It is conducting its own examinations. The criteria is BPUT standards, 55% in class 12th or Diploma (for lateral). The Admission process doesn't take longer than 3-4 hours and is managed well. OJEE counselling had 3 rounds for counselling. Getting in to top branches (CSE, ETC, CS & IT) you'd need a rank max to max around 90000 to 100000.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
