Remarks
The college is an autonomous institution. It is affiliated to the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University of Tirunelveli. It has ranked 27th in India and 7th in TamilNadu at the NIRF 2020. It is a 100 years old college still giving a quality education.
Course Curriculum Overview
The college follows the semester pattern prescribed by the CBCS committee. So we have a total of six semester exams along with practical papers for each semester. The curriculum is framed in such a way to provide a strong foundation about the concepts of life science and zoology, so that it will be easy for you to persue with higher education.
Placement Experience
The college provides both internship and placement opportunities to the students. We have a team to guide us and train us through the processes of placement. It will be more helpful for you to attend interviews both inside the campus and off-campus.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees for the aided courses are much affordable as it is prescribed the government. The self financing courses have different and a bit higher amount to be paid for fee. The fees has to be paid for each year of study.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college provides scholarships. It is given to meritorious and economically weaker students. They are given in the form of concessions and stipends. The forge also provides free midday meal to needy students.
Campus Life
We have NCC and NSS wings in our college. The Rotaract club performs their duties actively. The Scott Adventure club is set up to expose the students to various adventures like trekking, scuba diving, etc. Apart from this, there is a games and sports club with 12 teams for different sports.
Hostel Facilities
The college provides accommodation facilities for ladies. The name of the hostel is Ida Marsden hostel. The room rent is ?.4000/g per semester and the amenity fee is ?200/- pee month. The food is hygiene and clean.
Admission
The application process involves simple and streamlined steps. It is done through online mode. The application fee for aided programs is ?.60/- and for self financing programs is ?.100/-. The eligibility for UG course is a pass in HSC board exam.
Faculty
The UG course was introduced in 1956 by the department of zoology. Now, we have thirteen faculties out of which, twelve of them are doctoral degree holders. Dr.Robin sir is our HOD. Each of the faculty are highly specialized in their area of teaching.
