Entrance Preview
I wrote CET, and got an engineering rank of 642. My choice was PES University as it is undoubtedly the best for CS in Bangalore.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is well planned and organised throughout the year. The students are well informed through email, website, social media regarding the upcoming events and programs.
Internships Opportunities
The college offeres a lot of internships, both inside and outside college. The stipend depends on the internship itself. There are internship offered by Microsoft, Kanoe, OrdellUgo, etc in the summer.
College Events
There are a LOT of events that are held by various clubs in the college. There's Technical clubs like PES open source, Microsoft, Nokia clubs that hold events such as hash code, various workshops based on robotics, electronics, so on. Cultural clubs such as Pitch Please, rock bands. And there's also the sports meet- Infini. There's a lot of crowd and competition for all these events throughout the year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure for students enrolling via CET and PESSAT are different. PESSAT is for students all over the country. The fee varies from 60k to over 4 lakhs. I'm not sure about the other courses offered and their fee.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are scholarships awarded to students. It's a pretty good deal. Students who get above 9.5 or so get cash prizes. The the top 3 students of the department will be awarded a certain on their fee for the successive year of college fee.
Campus Life
The extracurricular activities, debates, sports all are held throughout the year. There are events such as workshops and musical events held, and famous artists, knowledgeable people share with the students on such occasions.
Alumni/Alumna
PES has a great Alumini network throughout the country, the world infact. The other day, I needed some insight on an issue. I was hesitant but later I did contact of the PES Alumini, and he helped me out.
Exam Structure
There are 2 tests followed by the final exam. It's pretty chilled out as they are spaced out by two or so weeks, events and holidays. 6 hours of classes isn't much to make it hectic.
Faculty
The faculty, the department as a whole is just amazing, knowledgable and dedicated. Almost all of the faculty have done their masters and many their PhDs too. They are friendly and easily approachable anytime.
