Education in Fashion from JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Hauz Khas.

JD Institute of Fashion Technology is situated in Hauz Khas,Delhi. It was established in 1988 and is accredited from UGC, NAAC and it is affiliated to Kuvempu University. JDIFT, Delhi offers 11 courses across 3 streams namely Design, Media and Mass Communication, Management and across 3 degrees like BSc, PGD, Diploma. Campus facilities are available such as Academic Zone, A/C, AV Lab, Canteen, Counselling, Fest, Cultural zone etc. It provides a truly global, inspiring, forward-thinking set of programs, JD Institute of Fashion Technology has collaborated with a number of Acclaimed Global as well as Indian Institutions and Associations like, Indo French Chamber Of Commerce and Industry, KOEFIA- Italy and National Design Institute, Russia.

The Course curriculum is well planned with exposure to the outside fashion world. The practicals are made very interesting and it is fun throughout. JDIFT provides education with innovative curriculum, up-to-date technology, pedagogy, industry and collaborations, while pioneering in experimenting and nurturing creativity by incorporating both classic and innovative design concepts. It enables students to have strong foundation in designing and have the ability to visually represent it by illustrations, photographs, graphics and visual display of merchandise.

The placement cell of our college is very active and the recent placements were fabulous. Great brands like CK, Tommy Hilfiger, H&M, Pepperfry and many more visited our college and 80% of the students were placed. They got jobs in the designing, retail, etc. Internships were also provided to the students. The minimum salary offered is Rs. 5,000 per month and the highest salary offered is Rs. 30,000 per month as an intern. Students get placed with famous designers too. The maximum salary package offered in our course is 3 LPA.

The fees of the college is a little expensive but the facilities and the quality of education justifies it. For a three year program it is around 3 to 4 lakh rupees. College provides the facility to make instalments for the ease of the payer. One years fees is paid in 4 instalments fees which is easy to pay. INR 1,80,000 approx is the annual fees which is fine as compared to other similar colleges.

JDIFT has different societies in the college to enhance the level of knowledge imparted. THE FASHION AWARDS take place every year where in students create their own collection and models walk the ramp for them. We have a great environment around us which enables a friendly environment around college. Many festivals are celebrated in college and are cherished by everyone.

Eligibility for Diploma and Undergraduate Diploma is 10+2 in any stream from a recognised board and eligibility for Postgraduate Diploma is graduation in any stream from a recognised university. A diploma course is for three months to twelve months whereas, UG Diploma is for three years and PG Diploma is for two years. However the college also takes in students through their NIFT score. I chose UG Diploma because I have always been interested Fashion Designing and was sure that I wanted to do that. So, I filled the online application and submitted the fee after being assisted by the representative from the college.

The faculty is very helpful and knowledgeable. It is all in all a good experience with the faculty. The faculty focuses on each child and makes sure none of the students have an issue. The faculty is very talented and smooth with work. They have immense passion and they swear by hard work and dedication towards imparting knowledge.
