Remarks
Our college gives a leadership base and human outlook to students in technical field so that they can easily encounter with the impending technical challenges in the industry. The college has a well equipped library with a seating capacity of 100 students including a digital library for accessing the journals in online mode. Other facilities provided to the students are telephone facilities, Indoor/Outdoor games room, library in girls hostel, computer facilities, common room with reading facility & T.V, gym facility, dry cleaning facilities etc.
Course Curriculum Overview
The duration of the course is two years which is focused in providing knowledge related to wireless/wired communication and the IT sector. Our skills are enhanced on the development of cable wires, email, internet, radio waves, satellite/mobile communication etc. Subjects taught in four semesters are networking lab, optical communication, applied mathematics for network engineers, advanced operating system, ASIC design, Real time embedded system, Soft Computing etc and a list of electives.
Placement Experience
Top notch companies such as Airtel, BSNL, Samsung, Accenture, RBS, Oracle, BEL, Research laboratories etc visited our college during my batch. Roles of Software engineer, communication manager, network support engineer, electrical engineer trainee and many others were offered to the students with a average package of 4 to 5 lpa. Internships in sectors such as digital companies, electronic circuit design, nanotechnology, mobile sector etc were also offered to students. Though I am not sure about the stipend offered.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The total fees for two years is 1 Lakh. The fees is very nominal if I compare the facilities and the package provided by the other big institutions of the country. Hostel & mess charges are divided accordingly but they are not included in the above fees structure.
Campus Life
Students are given a chance to compete with others in sports activities such as chess, badminton, football, basketball, judo, volleyball, athletics etc at national/zonal/international levels. Our batch mates have won Bronze medals in Zonal level competition in Volleyball and cricket teams of boys.Cultural activities such as painting, dancing, singing, drama, stand up comedy, English speaking, etc are also held at our college to increase the participation and uphold the interests of the fellow students.
Admission
You need to appear for a common entrance examination know as TAN-CET on the basis of which you will b e granted admission in the college. Other than that you need to passed the U.G course from a recognized university/ Anna University in Chennai or any other authority which is duly recognized by the Syndicate of Anna University. Apply online for the course and fill in the necessary educational qualifications. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of your scores and if selected you will be called to verify the documents and granted admission.
Faculty
The faculty members are very knowledgeable in their fields. They give us advanced lessons in network simulator, advanced digital communication systems, Modern DSP so as to provided us a practical as well as theoretical exposure in areas such as communication & telecommunication sector. Overall all the teachers are friendly and supportive.
