My journey from home to hotel

The course curriculum was very interesting. The course was full of practicals. Since I love cooking and management a lot I never felt as if I was studying. We had to appear for exams and internals regularly. Overall, the curriculum was great.

The placement opportunities provided by our college are excellent. The placement cell conducts recruitment drive every year to ensure job placements for the students. I heard from some of my juniors that last year the placement rate was as high 90 per cent. Every year around 20 companies to recruit students.

The fee structure is moderate. It is neither too high nor too low. The fee charged for the B.Sc course is around 1.10 lakhs per year. This fee includes the tuition fee, maintenance fee and also the hostel fee. Without hostel fee the would be around 70,000 per year.

Our college offers financial assistance to needy students. The scholarships are available for those who belong to the reserved category like scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and other backward classes. The merit cum means scholarship is available for students who are enrolled in the B.Sc course.

The facilities provided by our college are quite good. The infrastructure is well built and maintained. There are various labs where we learn about different aspects of cooking. For example, there is a bakery and confectionery lab with all the required equipment to help the students excel in the bakery. There is a well-stocked library with all the required reading material.

The admission for B.Sc course is granted on the basis of merit secured in NHMCT JEE exam. The candidates have to meet the cut-off requirements of the college. The application process in January while the result of the entrance test is declared in May.

The college faculty is well trained and highly experienced. Many of them have worked in the top hotels in the past. They teach us every concept in great detail. They are very supportive and friendly to us.
