The Delhi School of Communication (DSC) is an educational institute founded in 1995 in New Delhi and it has been awarded the Best Mass Communication and Media Management Institute in Delhi. It offers two days workshops in areas like Competitive Marketing, Brand Management, Digital Communication etc for working professionals. There?s also a two-years Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Communication and Masters in Mass Communication on offer. DSC was the first to introduce a course on Cultural Studies and it also provides Short-term courses in various fields such as Advertising and Media, Public Relations & Event Management, Digital Marketing, etc. The faculty includes Practicing Managers, Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Directors from the industry and Senior Educationists
Course Curriculum Overview
This course is a 2 years broad band programme and focuses on important aspects of mass media and mass communication technology along with business and competitive strategy perspective in marketing communication planning and implementation. It covers Public Relations, Media Planning, Advertising (all aspects), Digital Communication, Entertainment Management, Journalism and Events in great detail.
Placement Experience
The placements of the college are rather great with offers from biggest names in industry like Ogilvy, R K Swamy, Edelman, MSL, Omnicom etc hiring across 6 career verticals and offering lucrative packages. Students obtain placements up to 4 months before graduating on average with packages varying between 4 to 7 LPA.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The course fee for the 2 years integrated PGDP and Masters comes to around 5.45 lakh INR. This amount makes the yearly fees around 2.75 lakh INR and the per semester fee =s come to around 1.4 lakh which isn?t very cheap but neither is it overtly expensive.
Campus Life
There are a set of extracurricular activities on offer in this college. Spiritual learning is a part of DSC?s heritage and integral to our societal roots. A global rendezvous via ?culture presentations? transforms class environment into a global carnival. There?s also a society contribution programme where every year students and academia teach underprivileged children and adults residing in Saket and surrounding areas. There?s also more than 1200hrs of intense counselling available to students to monitor their overall development.
Admission
Admission to this course is dependent on candidates having passed graduation from a recognised university for admission to PGDP (Post Graduate Diploma Programme) in Communication and Masters in Mass Communication. Candidates must also have a valid CAT/MAT/ATMA score. After being shortlisted on the basis of these scores, students are then sent for a psychological test followed by a personal interview.
Faculty
The faculty here is adequately qualified and are amongst the best in their field. They have vast knowledge on their subject matter and are more than capable of lending a helping hand and guiding students effortlessly. Also since DSC is an authorised Training Partner of the Media and Entertainment Skill Council of India (MESC), the staff is always apprised of the latest trends and information on the subject.
