Rohan Miglani's Review On Amity University, Noida

The overall college experince was very enriching and immemorable. Everything in the college was very well managed and done in a very professional manner. The college had excellent infrastrure and other facilities. Extra-curricular activities including sports were given special importance as I mulyself was part of the college cricket team. Amity college is also famous for holding polo events although I have never been part of that event.

I took MAT examination and score 98 percentile. Got admission in Amity University to pursue MBA in International Business. I chose that college because it is well known and reputed institute and offers good placement option. I was also getting international exposure as part of the course so that made my decision a little easier. I wanted to learn about international business specifically export and import so chose that particular course.

The course had a range of subjects to make student award of different aspects of a business course. The subject included International business course that included export import International Marketing, Financial Management Operational Management Business Communication. So the course covered all spheres of business needed to help a business student to gain all the information required to make the transition to a business professional.

The internship was meant for giving the students the real industry environment so that they get a view of how its like working in corporate environment and also gave them opportunity to apply the knowledge they have acquired in real world scenario. My internship was in a big oil manufacturer Cargill India Ltd. Based in gurgaon. I got a good overview of the retail environment during my internship.

The college had good contacts with the industry so they have been successful in placing almost all the students. Some of them including me had been lucky and had multiple offers in hand. I joined the course before actually i completed the course.

We used to celebrate every event in the college. Every week we used to host events wherein industry people were invited to share their experiences. We used to rope in different industry experts by using our own contacts and also by doing cold calls. Other events were during all major Indian festivals. We used to host a event wherein the college used to call industry experts and major achievers and used to felicitate them. We used to do some research to find out the names that have contributed to the society. Finally our professors shortlist the winners and we used to invite them to our award and recognition event to feliciatte them and they used to share their experiences.

It was expensive for a middle class guy. I got an educational loan of 50% of my course fee at a nominal interest rate. The course costed us 8 lac indian rupees for 2 years.

Our college has students from diverse backgrounds. The gender ratio was about 65% -35% in favour of males. Especially in our course however in other courses female representation was more. We had international students studying with us too. In our class there were 2 males one was from Nigeria and one was from Denmark. Our college gives opportunity to Indian students to go and study abroad and similarly foreign students are invited to study in India.

Alumni network was an important part of the college. I was a part of the alumni network and we used to hold an event wherein we used to call successful amitians who have been successful in life. We used to felicitate them and they share their experiences with us.

Exams were held semester-wise. So you get lot of time time to engage yourself in practical activities and social activities. Our professors used to give us few assignments that we have to complete in a group or individually sometimes. Presentation used to happen as a usual activity.

The faculty in the college was very helpful, friendly and supporting. They believed not only in imparting bookish knowledge but also share the real life examples with students. The professors were really experienced andwere from different walks of life like some were retired defence persons, industry veterans etc.
