The oldest college in the east zone after IIT Kharagpur, has a vast Alumni network and great exposure of clubs participating in national and international events, surrounded by a big network of industries at it's proximity which makes it possible for students to experience industries/internships and also may get placed-in. The college is surrounded by a vast lush green acres of land and its proximity to the huge mighty Mahanadi Dam and many places of visit. The college is locates at the out skirts of the main city Sambalpur which makes the surroundings calm and free from the city chaos. Also it's well spaced hostels for students and activity center are a huge attention drawer.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is a intermix of pattern taken from IIT Kharagpur and BPUT, well planned and up-to-date curriculum based research education is provided. 48% Faculties posses certification from international colleges and rest are from IITs.Faculties of Civil Engineering are very strict and hardcore follower of discipline while the Mechanical Faculties are very friendly and cohesive.

VSSUT?s Training and Placement Cell (T&P) is proud of strengthening and nurturing a good relationship with recruiters across a wide spectrum of industries over the years. Every year new milestones are achieved making the strength of VSSUT student known across the country.The Training and Placement Cell (T&P) gathered about 20+ recruiters including Deloitte, INTEL and L&T. A Total of 467 students got recruited with Accenture recruiting the most (167) followed by Infosys (106), WIPRO (47), VEDANTA (21) and Deloitte (20).L&T ECC recruited 14 students, highest being from Civil Engg (7) followed by Electrical and EEE Engg (3) and the M.Tech students (4).Branch wise recruitment was the highest in Mechanical Engg (86) following them, Electronics and Telecommunication Engg (76), Computer Science & Engg (55) and Information & Technology (35).Chemical Engg, started in 2014, got placed with the highest recruiting in Accenture (7), Vedanta (5), Aditya Birla (3) with a total of 20 students gotten placed in different sectors.?Kudos to the Training and Placement Cell whose hard work paid off by the smiles of the students!?
College Events
Every year the college conducts two mains events which is an open college event, the technical fest- SAMAVESH is the heart of tech displays and innovation exhibition of students all over India, also the Cultural event - VASSAUNT is the main attraction for every student before the end of the session, it's an treat to the eyes. Dance programs, treasure hunt, roadies are the main fun events. On national festive are also conducted in each and every Department as well as club, participating in such events makes you understand the college culture and you got to connect with lots of people.
Campus Life
The campus is huge spread over a 600 acres of land plus separate hostel areas and activity center, different sport complex area, and club activity area, we have 24 hrs wifi service available in the campus as well as the rest places mentioned, It also has the oldest library has the largest collection of research papers, journals, thesis and books in Odisha. The labs have state of the art equipment and devices for dedicated research and study.
