Remarks

My JEE MAINS rank was 65000 in OBC quota so i did not get any reputed NITs and i was shattered at that time but one of my elder brother suggested me this college who is currently working on-site in IBM and was selected in Accenture at a starting CTC of 8lacs through Campus placement.I researched about this college a little bit and found out that it is one of the best semi government colleges in Odisha with affordable fee structure and great facilities.After taking admission in ECE branch here i realized that only CSE, IT,ECE are having a good prospectus for future endeavors.This college is NBA accredited and have an excellent research building TIFAC funded by government for research in semiconductor related fields.There are hostel facilities but the food is not up to the mark.Teachers are quitr supportive and here your main focus will be studies as the discipline is quite strict.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is a bit outdated but it works,The faculties here are literally a pain.They are always so biased and do whatever they want and only a handful of them teach exceptionally well the others are just there.Although extra curricular activities are there the main focus is only on studies.

Our batch being the biggest with around 1100 students a total of 800 students got placed in companies like WESTERN DIGITAL, ACCENTURE,WIPRO, INFOSYS,TCS, SAP LABS,DROPBOX,IBM and other reputed companies and startups

College Events

A total of 15+ clubs and various hackathons, poetry and art workshops,open mics,rangmanch talent show,Band, volleyball,basketball and cricket sports team and photography exhibitions. Regular industrial tours, Orphanage visits,old age home visits and talks by leading and renowned leaders.

Campus Life

There are two Libraries, one swimming pool, one well equipped gymnasium, one indoor stadium, rock garden, cactus garden, Cafeteria.Also there is a separate tennis court, basketball ground, volleyball ground,cricket ground,football ground.The campus as well as hostel is fully equipped with wi-fi.The computer labs are big enough to hold an overnight dj performance.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel is where the memories are.The hostel infrastructure doesnt matter much but it was an 7 storied building and it was great.The hostel is fully wi fi equipped with 24hr electricity and water.The only bad part is the food although there are shops outside the hostel which you can prefer.There is no ragging and bullying.

Placement Experience:

So from 7th semester plcements are starting.Various Tech and Non Tech companies are also coming like TCS ,Accenture, Cognizant, Delloitte, InfoSys, KFinTech, Incture, GyanSys, Iserveu for Tech branches. and PRADAN, Aditya Birla etc for Non tech branches. Students also getting offers from OffCampus like RedHat ,CISCO ,Amazon ,Google. From On Campus Highest Package goes upto 12 to 15LPA and lowest is 4.5 but average is 5 to 6 LPA which is comperable. And about almost all are who are opting for placements got placed eventually.

After 6th semester the students get eligible for company placement. There are huge companies visited every year for the placement and many big MNCs like Amazon offers 100seats , Wipro offers 200, detollite offers 100, microsoft offers 10, ITC offers 150 , Infosys offers 300, TCS offers 200, Flipkart offers 150 and many more . Every year almost 80% of the students get placed at a good company with a minimum of 4 lakhs . After getting the degree I am planning to get placed in a multi national company like Amazon or Microsoft

Placements are ok but majority of the placement are for the IT and Cse sectors, but there are some core companies which offers a good packages. Around 40-50 % students pare placed in the companies and more over most of the students are up for the higher studies and cracking GATE exam.

See basically you placement depends on you .If you work hard you will get placed with a good package.In our college last year the avg package for CSE was around 13 Lakh per annum and highest was about 39 lakh per annum.Companies like Amazon,oracle Microsoft etc visited our college .After 4 th or 5 th semester i Think we are all capable of getting placed .

Courses and instructors are good, but don't expect a rocking campus life here.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this college without planning as I couldn't get a desired seat in IIT. But I think it was for good. The course is a wonderful primer on the path of becoming a scientist. Compared to other colleges, IISER Berhampur has a quite good faculty: student ratio. But most of them are pretty good as people and as teachers. We manage to conduct all classes without fail. But I'd like to see an increase in the number so that the research area can be broadened. The faculty here have all completed their Ph.D. and postdoc and all have some good prior experience in research and teaching. I like most of the instructors that have taught me except for a few one or two. The exam schedule is given right with the calendar release of each semester before the semester starts. Sometimes there might be changes in the schedule but we are informed around 2-3 weeks earlier in that case. Exams are not hard to pass if you attend classes and study sincerely. Questions are not asked beyond the concepts being taught.

Life at BGU

Placement Experience:

After the summer internship. The college started giving campus placement training and during the month of September, students got placement already. Companies like TATA AIG, Collegedunia, Federal Bank, Delloite, ADP, TCI, SIS, HDFC AMC. IDFC BANK. Practo, ADVARISK, AXIS BANK. Property pistol came and took a maximum of students. The highest package was offered by international companies like property pistol with 22 lac CTC and average being 5lacs. Mostly the profile was on sales and marketing. only a few fintech companies could recruit students. Till now around 96% of students are placed in different domains and already started working. I am fortunate enough to get placed in the FEDERAL bank with 10lac CTC and as a fresher joining such a big company will be extremely grateful to the college and its placement team. They personally look after students drawback by the feedback they get from the recruitment teams and suggest where to improve and give a number of opportunities to seat for the company.

All are good,but only fooding quality is below the level.And also it does not have any playground available to play outdoors games.only it have not a playground but this college have good class room,WiFi campus, Computer centre,canteen, language lab and hostel are there.

Life at NIST

As i didn't score much in my entrance exams I had to opt for tier 2-3 colleges from which as i am from odisha and many of my realtives and friends suggested NIST University. My College Life.

I didn't applied in any other colleges. I joined this college because the rules and regulations and the faculty members are good.
