Atrayee Bharadwaj's Review On Assam Engineering College - [AEC], Guwahati

Firstly, AEC comes under the most prestigious state government Engineering College. The academic curriculum, the overall campus placements, and the fact that most branches are under the National Board of Accreditation(NBA),makes the college worth the choice. My branch, Chemical Engineering, which also comes under NBA, is the reason why I decided to shift from Jorhat to Guwahati. Not among the core branches, yet a branch with future prospectives, chemical engineering is what I always wanted.

Well, the course syllabus remains updated. We definitely are provided industrial exposure. The faculties are good enough. They don't keep the knowledge bounded by the four walls of the classroom. We are given enough exposure towards the future aspects of our branch studies and several seminars, interactive sessions are being held from time to time. Moreover, there are several clubs that do not limit our exposure to academics, but helps us explore more of our positive energies in worthy fields.

Initially, being just in the second year of college, we had been doing asked to do a social internship based on COVID(from home),and it is included in our semester curriculum. Our topic was, "The role of Doctors, Nurses and other healthcare workers during COVID". After the second semester break, every year, a social internship is included in our academic curriculum. There are more internships included as we go up the ladder of semesters.

The placement programmes are the most attractive feature of our college. It is determined by the overall score in the last three years and one's ability to showcase the best of knowledge gained throughout the 4 years journey. Placements are frequent and includes public as well as private sectors.

There are several tech-fests held, with numerous competitions and student exposure programmes. Pyrokinesis is an annual cultural event that brings the whole AEC family together. Here, all students are allowed to exhibit their talents, give host to their curious minds and given the best exposure to showcase the limitless ideas and mindsets.

The campus is well equiped with updated laboratories for each specific branch, workshops and several sports facilities which allow students to give their best. The library has enough books for each semester students. Each student can borrow 4 books in total for a whole semester. The infrastructure is quite satisfactory and any part lagging behind are worked upon immediately to make it better.
