Remarks

I was not selected in jossa counselling round, then I decided to participate further in Central secondary allocation board (CSAB) round, I simultaneously applied for Madhya Pradesh colleges in MP counseling, I was getting CSE in SGSITS college, which is considered the best college in MP,but at the same time, after few days, I got results of CSAB round, got IIIT UNA, with IT branch, I was happy as I have increased my prospect from a state college to a college of national importance.Institute of national importance have many benefits,So I chosed this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

Our course syllabus was very much updated, we had also a new practicum session in which we have to deal with learning about new devices or some old electronic device, doing reverse engineering was also included in that, unboxing and packing again new devices was included in that, which gave us very much good industrial exposurewhich is right now not started by any of the IIITs, in our 1st semester we have studied C language which was not there few years ago, Talking about faculties some are good, some are bad,Priyabharat Sir and Grewal sir is one of the best teachers.

Placement Experience

4

As shown by our website of the college we have some good companies like jio which comes for placements.Placement department is quite good they try their hard for placement, placement representatives are also good, we have a 3 years alumni network.

College Events

3.5

Campus life was not that good as we have no seniors help and guidance, everyone going on their on path, our seniors are studying in NIT Hamirpur campus, only our batch is in Una, no campus, we also sometimes face electricity problem as it was a village area, events are held and various awareness programs have been done, there were no tech and cultural fest, We participate in techfest of our seniors but it was pending due to Coronavirus.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have applied for Madhya Pradesh scholarship, also called Medhavi vidhyarthi chatra yojana. Students having annual income below than 6 lacks with their jee main rank under 2,50,000 will be considered eligible in applying for scholarship.

Campus Life

Right now we are in a temporary campus which is Dev Bhoomi building in in Chandpur village, we do not have any facilities when it comes to going outside the college, our temporary campus is a very isolated area,it's in a village so we don't get any facilities there just two to three small shops outside the college, You can't expect even a city culture in Una also,it's a small town like city, you won't find malls here,so mentally be prepared when you are coming here.In our temporary campus we have a table tennis, a very bad volleyball court,we don't have a cricket ground or a football ground, we just have indoor game facility. You can say the college authority our cooperative when it comes to give sports facilities but they also had restrictions as the space available in temp campus are parks only so that we can make it a proper ground.Labs are good, all equipments are new,all labs are newly made.We we have a free Wi-Fi connectivity in our college, but thats only available inside the hostel.

Hostel Facilities

All first year students are living in hostels, we have been given good hostels, we have attached toilet for 4 people, but the bad thing is you have to share your room with four or three students, hence sometimes it can also become a very disturbing room.Else the college hostels are good,Separate hostels for both girls and boys.

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I liked horticulture .This course is very well applied in real world in cultivation and growing of vegetables, fruits and flowers and horticulture also has job opportunities in private sector. There are some improvements like more practical learning, real world exposure etc. that could be made to make this course more effecgive in real world application. The exams are conducted per semester and the difficulty level of exams is average.
