My Review

The college has NAAC and NBA accredition. Also have M tech for some branches. Honors is not available for all batches. Management enforces a lot of restrictions in the events. Student union exercise no powers. It is like a puppet and has nothing much to do.

This institute comes under APJ ABDUL KALAM UNIVERSITY or else known as KTU(kerala technical university). The institute follows this curriculum strictly. The courses involved are not very recent but are mostly traditional. We also have a chance to opt for some of the papers. Management and industrial sector papers are also available as electives. We also have to do 1 mini project and a main project respectively in 2nd and 4th year.

I was placed to 3 companies. Mostly the companies want graduates with no back papers. Some good firms like federal bank even demanded a cut off as there threshold criteria. Apart from this the companies coming for placements are mostly IT companies and call centres. You will be groomed for the placement by the placement team. I attended 3 internship during my for year B tech. Mostly at the end of an academic year. You will be compelled to do atleast two. You have to find the centers for internship or else they arrange some internship in the college wing.

There will be a number of events. There will be n number of restrictions for most of the programs. There will be arts day, sports day, college day, onam celebration and many more. Mostly these are a one day program and you will have restrictions. Often it is the same enthusiastic group who comes up. Most of the opportunities goes to some particular events of interest. It is biased. It is academics oriented college. There won't be much motivation. Your mark reflects the managements attitude.

It is the same rate for management and merit. During my year in was 75 thousand per annum with a 1 lakh caution fee. Recently it was changed to 90 per annum without caution fee. Merit based students will have scholarship depending on the permorfmance in the entrance examination. The course is even offered free for high rank candidates. But for low scoring candidates or candidates who didn't approach for keam entrance examination will have to pay an amount of 1. 5 lakh per annum. It is moderate in expenses.

No I did not avail both. But I had a Pmss scholarship which was independent of the college. I received it because I was son of ex service man. But the college have a number of scholarships for students with good ranks and poor community. Loan can be availed and are accepted.

Mostly it is girls in most of the branches. But since there were two branches of mech with male domination. Gender ratio will be 40:60 (girls:boys). No political parties are allowed in the college. Sports day are usually a hoax. It is just a one day program. Other team events are conducted after college hours with a very few participants and with no audience. Labs are above average. Fab labs are available. There is no religious or caste based intollerance.

I was a day scholar. But from my friends I got to know that some days the food is pathetic. You have to be back at campus by 6 or else you should have special permission. The warden is strict. Students will be made to attend the prayers especially Christian belivers. But accommodation is fine and you are not allowed to enter other rooms, if found in other rooms you will be answerable. There will be study rooms and prayer halls.

Alumni network exist and It is rarely helpful. There is no much ragging. The management rules the college. The student union for name sake is helpless.

The admissions began even before the entrance result came. I opted for a management seat for it did not require entrance mark. Only need is that you should have attended the entrance and should have cleared the passing criteria and a minimum of 60% marks in +2. There are attractive packages for students who cleared entrance exam with good marks and within 15, 000 ranks.

Most of them are experienced hands and there are some freshers too. Most of them are from reputed colleges. But some are not upto the mark and are poor in teaching. The use of slides are more and often lecturing ends up skipping slides and sending the slides to the students.
