Remarks
Being an autonomous institute the College management are responsible for any changes and amendments. They are mostly supportive. At times, it may be tough to take the issue up. But overall things that management do benefit the students a lot. Also, they hear you for sure.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is pretty updated. I say updated because you get to start coding right from the first year. Which is not the same in IIT's and NIT's as they have a common subjects for all courses in first year. You get a pretty good head start for programming and coding. Apart from that the academics when we consider exam pattern is a bit heavy as each semester has 3 exams and 2 practicals. Divided as Minor 1 (20%), Minor 2 (20%), Major (60%) and additional 2 Lab exams per semester. The great thing about the faculty is that all of them are PhD holders which is only true in IITB and IIIT Gwalior in all over India. This is a great positive aspect.
Placement Experience
The placement scenario at IIIT Gwalior is one of the best in IIIT's. Last year the highest package was 42LPA which is a pretty decent one. 3 students bagged more than 40+. Also, with a total of 70% placements with 10 + Lakh LPA. It's a great place with a good culture to learn and get ahead in career. For internships only a hand full of companies attend. But nevertheless a ton of students apply off campus and get placed with Internships and a successive PPO(pre placement offer) after their Internship.
College Events
As far as the events are considered there are yearlong events conducted by 5+ clubs in the Institute. Apart from that there are 2 fests every year, 1 Techno Managerial fest called Infotsav (2 Days) and a Cultural fest called Aurora (3 days). The participation goes with a minimum of a couple of thousands of outsiders and students which is pretty awesome.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is pretty decent and economically fine when compared with other IIIT's and IIT's. The complete fee including Academic fee and hostel, food goes to something across 1.8 Lakhs a year and 1.6 lakhs a year from the second year. There are no any hidden fees and everything is included. The fee structure is pretty transparent and you can pay everything online and get the receipts online as well.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are options to apply for a lot of Government schemes for scholarships. As ABV-IIITM Gwalior comes under MHRD all the major national level scholarships are accepted. As every scholarship has their own terms and details I can't dive deeper into it. But there are other MCM (Merit cum scholarships) you can apply for. Fee exemptions for SC/ST are also available.(you can check the website for more about it)
Campus Life
The campus life is pretty nice. As previously said it's one of the greenest campus in Asia you can enjoy the nature. Everything is laid out well and with good room of spaces. It's not crowded as a lot of other Private institutes. Our campus has one of the best Sports center and also great Library with reading rooms with AC facility and much more.
Hostel Facilities
Yes, its compulsory for anyone and everyone no matter if the students house is beside college to stay in hostel. Hostel facilities are pretty decent in comparison to what we pay. We are given single rooms right from the 3rd semester. Also the hygein and maintenance is good. Overall i love my hostel life. The fee goes anywhere between 13K for Food a semester and 15K for Hostel.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network is pretty strong. I say this because IIIT Gwalior is one of the olders IIIT. A ton of students have passed out. You can find connections from every top Corporate companies. The bonding and culture with seniors and alumni is pretty strong. You can get referrals and get placed in great companies.
Admission
The admission is based on JOSAA councelling based on JEE Mains marks. I always wanted to learn technology and seeing a college something like IIIT where all the courses that you have are only computer science related. So I thought that this would help the coding culture a ton. It turned out to be a great choice. Also, it is one of the greenest campuses in Asia which is also a great thing which I didn't know before taking my admission.
Faculty
The great thing about the faculty is that all of them are PhD holders which is only true in IITB and IIIT Gwalior in all over India. This is a great positive aspect. The faculty is pretty supporting and there's a great bonding between student and management and things get resolved with minimal efforts. Apart from this faculty is available throughout the office hours, where we can visit them and ask our academics or personal doubts.
