Course Curriculum Overview
Yes IT course in our college is relevant. As our college is autonomous so the courses are designed by our professors only. They are pretty good because they know which subjects are useful in future and in what way a student can develop it's skills and have a better future.
Placement Experience
There are much more internship offer as our college have incubation center which has many startups in it.
College Events
Our college have many different events. All festivals are celebrated with enthusiasm. As our college is a gujarati minority college navratri is celebrated by doing garba. Even events like treasure hunt and startup events are held to increase the enthusiasm of students.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees structure is pretty expensive as compared to other colleges of mumbai. As campus of our college is big, it requires more amount to get maintained, But according to me the fees is much more than expected for an engineering college. Now the fess for one year will be 2. 85 lacs as somaiya has become an university.
Fees and Financial Aid
No I have not got scholarship opportunity but my friend got admission through tution fee wave scheme.
Campus Life
They are having good facility of campus and the gender ratio is approximately 7:6 for boys and girls. Facility of sports is best in somaiya as it has good amount of grounds and our college participates in almost every competition. Our college has various organization such as robocon and many others in field of robotics.
Hostel Facilities
No, as I am a resident of Mumbai I am not having the hostel facility. But as my friends are staying in hostel, according to them they are pretty good and 3 students can stay in one room and they do not have AC facility.
Alumni/Alumna
There are various sessions held of alumni so as to discuss their future and to discuss about more career options.
Admission
I got admission on my merit in MHT-CET exam. Now my college have become an university, so criteria for admission has changed You can check all the details. I have selected I. T course because I was having good interest in this field and had heard that this college is having pretty good record of placement. My college has a pretty large amount of campus (second biggest in mumbai after iit bombay).
Faculty
Faculties of our college are pretty good qualified. Most of them have their PHD degree from IITs and have nice amount of knowledge in their field Even they are very supportive and very kind to students. We also cen collect information for our startups.
