Remarks

The Principal is a difficult person to deal with. But one doesn't have to deal with her till the time you're not holding a position of responsibility. Other than that, KNC is known for its canteen services which is very good.

Course Curriculum Overview

Talking about placements it was only meant for Commerce students because the major opportunities that came into the campus were meant for them. Humanities students didn't really benefit from the placement cell. The course in curriculum is very easy and not oppressing at all since it allows students to freely invest their time into other activities as well apart from academics. Attendance is an issue in KNC. Exam structure is as per the UGC guidelines which comes from the DU head office. It is a mix of internals and externals. 2 semesters per year.

Placement Experience

0.5

I haven't availed any internship from the placement cell. The placement cell was more or less only beneficial for commerce students.

College Events

4.5

We have department fests towards the beginning of a new semester. Every department chooses a theme and based on that we have them. We have an annual fest which is known as Ullas. Where usually we have artists and performers for the 2 days event. We have a Diwali fest which is known as Shubhanjli. Then NCC fest as well.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's is very reasonable and cheap. I myself paid 24K for these three years. That is, 8K per year. Mode of payment was online from the beginning. Exam fees is supposed to be paid by 1st and 2nd years but final year students don't pay anything. You usually have to pay even for getting academic material because that's not available in college. Yes there is enough transparency in fee-breakdown.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't avail any such thing. Neither I was aware of any such thing existed in the college. The admission procedure solely depended on merit list and some reservations and ECA. Which is extra co-curricular activities quota.

Campus Life

It's a girls' college so there no such thing about gender ratio. The extracurricular societies were amongst the top in Delhi University with a good environment and teams. All the societies were pretty good in what they did and often came up in the merit.

Hostel Facilities

I am a Delhite so I didn't need a hostel. There is no hostel for our college. Outstation students used to put up in PGs which were in proximity to the college. I am not sure about rentals but they vary between 10-20K where you're provided with everything from food to shelter to other facilities.

Alumni/Alumna

The college seniors have been helpful throughout. They've helped us through examinations and college events as well. They had been great leaders to us and it was always a novel experience working with them.

Admission

I entered through the cut off list as per my percentage in 12th. The admission procedure included filling the main registration form on the Delhi university website and then I visited the college where I was given a form to fill that belonged to the college. The admission process at Kamla Nehru College is very easy and smooth. The reason I chose this institution is because its proximity from my residence and also it is one of the top 10 colleges under Delhi University. The campus life is very lively and extremely safe, the societies for co curricular activities were amongst the top societies in the DU circuit. I chose this course because I wanted to pursue Mass Communication after my graduation and political science played a huge role in expanding my knowledge about the country and the world. Currently there is no news about the admission procedure for the batch 2020-22. One needs to keep a tab on the official Delhi University website for such information because the administration is very erratic.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of our department was known for its efficiency in the university campus. We had top political scientists teaching us as our professors and who were well versed with their field of study. We had teachers from different backgrounds which helped us gain more knowledge from a personal perspective as well. All in all we never had an issue with how the faculty functioned.

Placement Experience:

Placements at my college are average, students become eligible from around the 5th semester. A few companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in entry level positions. The average package is moderate, while higher package are limited. Around 70 to 80% of students get placed. I plan to focus on skill development and explore better opportunities after completing my degree.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant as it contains useful concepts which a management student should know. And the concepts are very comprehensive and easy to understand. Examples are given in the curriculum which prepares us for the real world. Some teachers use the presentation based teaching which is good and should be encouraged. The exams are not that difficult for one who is atleast decent in studies.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.
