Remarks

Pretty good college with all the desirable facilities and a lovely environment WITH A BEACH!!!

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is strong. It focuses on the basics of environmental engineering. There are also subjects that focus on climate change and environmental management. Exams are held twice each semester. The second-year project is mostly research-driven and this along with internship during the sem break provides a considerable professional outlook.

Placement Experience

2.5

The placement in my department is average. Overall placement in the college is pretty good, particularly in the circuit branches. Internships are mostly contacted and arranged by the student representatives of each class. Some faculty may lend a hand in the matter.

College Events

4

The technical fest is an ENGINEER. It is sort of a letdown. Almost all other events are pretty well organized and enjoyed. The cultural fest is called INCIDENT. This is actually one of the highlights of the college. There are other events like kite festivals, Onam celebration, Holi, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is kind of expensive. Each semester requires a tuition fee of around 50000. Besides this, there are hostel fees and miscellaneous expenses in the campus. The fee structure of the undergraduate course is actually higher than this and the NRIs have to pay even higher.

Fees and Financial Aid

There weren't any scholarships available for us. However, since we had received admission through the GATE exam, we received a stipend every month.

Campus Life

The number of boys is more in most of the departments. There are many workshops open to all students held by different departments all through the year. There a number of clubs engaged in different activities. There is zero politics. Students from all over India and some foreign exchange students also study here.

Hostel Facilities

Yes, I had opted for college. The rooms were not ok at the beginning. In the second year however it turned out fine. But the fee is a bit much. 1st year we had 2 sharing rooms but with 3 people in every room. That was a bit congested.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is pretty helpful in arranging placement visits on the campus and also for internships in different companies.

Admission

I attempted the GATE exam in 2018. I came up with a reasonably good score and went through the college selection process. NITK was one of my top preferred NITs. I got into NITK in the 2nd seat allotment round. Even after getting in, there were internal shifting between various courses.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty are very well qualified and knowledgable in their areas. Almost all the permanent faculty have a doctorate. Each subject will have almost 40 lectures and covers the whole topic in the curriculum. The average age of faculty must be around 35. Lectures are mostly focused on real-life examples so they are easier to understand.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would like to rate the course 7 out of 10. Because as these is a distance learning many difficulties occur. I am doing a MBA in ksou after my graduation in b. Com. As ksou comes under UGT it is more helpful for the job seeker. As per my knowledge the faculty should conduct a more classes may be through online so that the working people can attend the classes from wherever they want. There are many distance learning courses in ksou academic platform but they are not handling in a accuracy. They take a lot of time to announce a results, even to conduct a exams they take a lot of time. The question paper are sometimes difficult and the question will be from out of syllabus which will be difficult to attend. Distance learning course is difficult to manage
