Here,we are free enough to choose our own paths.we are not spoon fed and are not always being watched.It is only you to lead into a right way.Everything comes out of our own experience.Rather than studying it's all about learning life at GCT.

Course and curriculum was good.It was not that research driven to the maximum but was relevant and instigated our minds on the way to research.Exam structure was of the same kind that really does not need things to be understood it was a easy task to be completed within a day or two.

The placement for the IT,CS and the electrical branches were high than the so called evergreen engineering streams.The placed candidates are alone allowed to attend internships off campus.

There are about 9 departments in the college.These departments condut two functions in an academic year one in odd semester and the other in the even semester.they have their own preparations and patterns of celebrating.Students of the respective departments organize things required themselves with their own fund.Other than that there are independent clubs that conduct functions at regular intervals.The common culturals will be conducted by the students club every year.

Sufficient scholarships were available.Students are advised to open a savings account in SBI GCT branch for availing the scholarship easily.Based on communal reservation students receive scholarships ranging from 7500 for OBC to 16000 for SC/ST.Also we have alumni sponsoring a net amount of 5000 rs per year based on our academic performance which will be deducted from the mess bill.

Gender ratio was actually equal.The departments which require physical strength such as mechanical,production,civil showed more masculine whereas the CS,IT, Electrical departments showed an excess feminine ratio.There were no notable diversity between the students.Sports was the best interactive session between the senior and junior.We don't have a separate coach for sport rather the seniors guided us they trained us and leave us to train others.

Alumni association is one main reason for a govt college of this kind to be on top 5 Engg colleges.There has always been a excellent rapport between the alumni and the students.They support the financially backward students in studies.They help to meet the needs of hostels such as providing RO water purifiers, refurnish doors, improve the quality of grounds and so on.

It was purely merit based.I had a cuoff mark of 197.75 out of 200 in the TAMILNADU state board examinations.I attended the open window counseling held under the Anna university Chennai.I was called for the counseling on the 2nd day.Having the more reputed institutions like CEG PSG been filled,the colleges of the next tier like GCT,CIT,Thiyagarajar are available for me out of which I chose GCT.

The faculties are well and good.They have a vast knowledge in subject and are capable enough to convey it intact.They also have quite a good experience in on field.Most of them possess a doctorate in their respective fields.They are friendly enough to access anytime and are Available always.
