Entrance Preview

I got admission to jln medical college bhagalpur, bihar through all india quota reserved for the north eastern state of arunachal pradesh in the year 2001. The entrance examination was conducted by arunachal pradesh government and i got 7th rank in state and in my category i got 2nd rank. As the seats where reserved since arunachal has no medical colleges.

Internships Opportunities

Overall the internship experience was good. the life of medical graduate as an intern is a tough job. He is the budding doctor, junior most in his cadre. The primary responsibility of patient care lies on his shouders. Lots of work assigned by the seniors in the form of patient care, documentations and other patient related works.

Placement Experience

4

Since it is a medical college there is no custom like campus selection like in case of engineering etc. Even then we used to get opportunity to join various hospitals after completing internship as resident doctors. The packages started from rupees 20000-45000 in various parts of india. Few local hospitals, nursing homes and also corporate hospitals form metros has contacted us through various consultancy agencies.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since the college was in government sector the fees was very reasonable and feasible. The amount for one year was less 50000 including hostel mess fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Dont know much about in this regard. but the college cooperated in various documentation works needed for availing various scholarships from various government department the parents of the students were working. The college facilitated the paperworks for the obc , sc/st and other scholaship programs.

Campus Life

4

Our batch were of 50 students and average number of female to male ratio was 1:5 with few batches having more girls. There were no restrictions in hostel parties respective hostels for males and females.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes we do have alumni network in facebook and whats app and we have a contact with both our senior and junior batches. We have made a facebook community of our college and also we simultaneous groups of each batch. Same way when we organize college reunion of particular batches or whole campus we create an event in facebook to ensure maximum participation.

Exam Structure

There were exams and lab activities in regular intervals. These are a tiresome thing but to maintain high standard of academics these things were essentially needed. In spite of all hardships we enjoyed ur exams and labs.

The frequency of exams is a headache to be honest . There is 1 semester coming up within every 4 to 5 weeks which makes it stressful for us. Moreover the teaching methods are decent. This course is indeed a challenging one!

I opted for mbbs which is obvious as i had qualified neet exam. Mbbs is a degree which gives us a day to day exposure to the common people. It's a degree of service, which includes a day/night work without any complaint, but not now as I'm currently in 2nd year only.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As a medical college, it always has an environment of focus and consciousness. I have chosen MBBS because I want to be a focused student in my life. I want a disciplined life, which is also a beauty of this course. MBBS develops you as a sincere - sensible and soft personality. In each department of our college, there are 3 to 4 teaching and non-teaching staff and our batch strength is of 170 students and there are totally more than 15 departments in MBBS course, so now you have an idea about the faculty Nad student ratio of our college. Faculty members are excellent in every department of our college be it the Undergraduate department or postgraduate department they are well qualified and renowned and they are great doctors too, they have wonderful art and experience of producing successful doctors. As a medical college, here 1st priority is study and assessment of students so exams are on time and obviously it has a difficult curriculum, which needs lots of hard work and dedication.
