My experience in NIST has been great. Be it technical or the regular cultural, sports events which happen round the year, everything is pretty good. The standard of education is brilliant. Faculty here is highly reputed and qualified.

I had got 68 Rank in OJEE Entrance 2008. National Institute of Science & Technology (NIST) was established in the year 1996. NIST is accredited with Grade A by NAAC National level laboratories available in this college.

ON CAMPUS HOSTEL:Available Seats for Boys is 600 on campus, 500 off campus and for girls 600 on campus, 300 off campus.ON CAMPUS MEDICAL FACILITY:24-hour medical services are provided on campus with the help of a well-equipped dispensary. TRANSPORT SERVICE:18 Buses and around 48 staff members working in the transport section. They provide bus services for students and staff

WAVE:A special event called WAVE, held every year, highlights the cultural talent of our incoming batch. "Waves" is a smash-hit with students. It is replete with dances, debates, skits, mono-acting, just-a-minute sessions, painting, cartooning, tattoo-making, dumb charades, antakshari, rapid-fire quiz and multi-cultural fashion parade. Students also put up their own food and games stalls. "Waves", therefore, is total fun. Each hostel also organizes its own extra-curricular activities.SANKALP:Sankalp is one of the legendary events in the Campus of National Institute of Science and Technology(NIST).

The fees are according to the guidelines prescribed by the Government of Odisha.B-TechFee Structure: Rs. 68, 000/- per annul excluded other facility like Hostel, Food, Books, Transport

Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme : Provided to 5% students whose family annual income is less than 4.5 lakhs. Merit Scholarship: Provided to students who score 9.0 or more in their university examinations. Teaching Assistantship: Top scorers of each subject are given Teaching Assistantship Scholarship of amount Rs. 1200/- per month. Research Assistantship: A sum of Rs. 1200/- per month is provided to students who assist their teachers in doing research. Book Grant Scholarship: Books are made free for students who are economically backward. Economic Hardship Scholarship: A stipend amount of Rs. 1200/- per month is given to the economically backward students.

Gender ratio is almost balanced 10:8 (M/F) All essential facilities are available inside Hostel to organize Parties. Different types of workshops has been conducted by NIST in regular intervals. Cultural association team is there who conducts many events throughout the year.

Institute has evolved a system to provide lodging and boarding through on campus hostel facility. All students are provided guaranteed accommodation on the basis of their confirmed request.Available Seats for Boys is 600 on campus, 500 off campus and for girls 600 on campus, 300 off campus. Hostels are provided with 24-hour water supply and uninterrupted power supply. Arrangements are made to provide internet service to all hostels. Halls of the residence are well furnished and equipped with TVs, Telephones, water filters, magazine library, 24/7 cafeteria, sports & games, medical facilities, etc.

No ragging campus NIST really helped students has good healthy interaction with senior. Life at NIST has surely help me to explore myself and given me opportunities that I am sure, I would not have got at other places.

Exam structure is as per the BPUT norms.National level laboratories available on this campus.DST-FIST Center, Advance Computing Center, Center of Excellences established in partnership with Industry such as CADENCE, IBM, SAP Asia Pacific, National Instruments, Texas Instruments, ARM, WIPRO.It is not at all hectic if you are inside the campus.
