Anonymous's Review On Jawaharlal Nehru National College Of Engineering - [JNNCE], Shimoga

Since it was in my hometown, and the fees for COMEDK was quite affordable I chosen this college. The college is decent in our place and is existing since past 30 years. Because of this the professors are experienced and has a good infrastructure

I am majored in Mechanical, the course curriculum was designed by VTU. The course was very traditional and outdated. The academic books were informative but they should have been revised to provide modern discoveries

I have did internships in a foundry industry and HAL. But we have undergone internship for informative purpose and didn't expected any stipend. Very few companies offer stipend for internships though and most of them are limited to IT branch students.

The placements were majorly driven by one mass recruiter i.e, TCS. Most of the students were recruited by TCS and few has opted out for better opportunities. Few students are very well prepared for corporate world but according to me there were hardly any companies to offer them a fair job. But with sufficient effort one can easily get a job in TCS.

There was one grand technical and cultural event used to happen evry year. Best part is all the arrangements were managed by students under college supervision. Because of this the quality was solely dependent on students participation. The branch events were quite good

I didn't took any loans from college. I borrowed money from a bank. Scholarships were offered to the academic toppers and people who had good CET ranking for joining. Other than this the government offers scholarships based on caste and for certain students with good academics.

There was no wifi in college campus, but the library was good and had most of the books required. Since the college is old the lab equipments are used by many hands and we need to be very careful while using it. Other infrastructure was good and had plenty of open spaces. The auditorium must have been big.

Hostel infrastructure is good for the money they charged. Still I feel the building is old and needs some renovation with proper amenities. The hostel mess was pale, but the food were less oily and served good amount if vegetables
