I thoroughly enjoyed my tenure in IIT Kharagpur and the experience was once in a lifetime which helped to shape my future both in my professional as well as personal life.

GATE-2002. Government Job options and also opportunity for higher studies both in India and abroad is more than other science courses. I scored 90.88% and it is oldest and most prestigious IIT.

Course curriculum was relevant and as per market demand which enriched me both academically and professionally. My elective subjects were Groundwater, Remote Sensing, Organisational Behaviour, Mineral Exploration, Analysis of Geological Data and Marine Geoscience

The college internship experience was excellent. It enriched me both theoretically and practically. I also gained field experience. All these helped me in my professional life. The general stipend offered was Rs. 5000/- per month.

Placement and job opportunities were excellent with almost all the students got placement in government or private sector or got chance to do PhD from abroad.

IIT Kharagpur used to hold lots of technical, cultural and management festivals, most important of which were Spring Fest, Kshitij, Megalith etc. which was held on regular basis.

Fee structure was feasible. HRD Ministry provides scholarship to the GATE qualified candidates which was sufficient to bear the expense of education fees, hostel fees, fooding etc.

IIT being Government Institute provide lots of Merit cum Means scholarship for bright students like GATE scholarships, assistantship to Ph D students, asistantship to MMST students

Campus life was full of energy. Many cafeteria and food stalls are open 24X7 and provide cheap and hygienic food to the students, Gender ratio is balanced, Hostel life is excellent with 24 X 7 internet facilities, state of the art lab, lots of extracuriculur activities like soccer, cricket, tennis, table tennis, badminton etc.

Hostel facilities were excellent. Students were provided single occupancy with 24 X 7 internet facilities. Mess food was also OK and had varietiesand suite students with different food habits

IIT KGP alumni network is spread over the world with once in a year meeting in the campus. I personally interact and meet IIT KGP alumnus in different field and places. Proud to be a IIT alumnus.

Exam structure was semester wise. Credit point was awarded to each course. Based on performance grade was awarded (from A to F).Based on grade point SGPA and CGPA was awarded.

Faculty of the college was as per the standard of IIT. Faculty members were well qualified and helpful. They encourage students and guide them through proper career counselling which ensure their confidence and bright future
