Abhishek Singh's Review On National Institute Of Fashion Technology - [NIFT], Navi Mumbai

This college is meant for the student who like design and stitching work even if you are opting technology course though you have to do stitching and pattern making during your course.

NIFT common all India level exam they conduct this exam every year and min qualification to appear for this exam is 10 plus 2.

1st year course gives basic knowledge of Fashion.apparel.and IT.and it is called as a foundation year after that intermediate course in which u start learning stitching and all at the end of second year u get chance to go for one month internship programme where u actually see fabric productioncfrom fiber to fabric then third year and fourth comes under advance learning stage and in these last two year u learn about garments i.e. from fabric to mass production of garments.

Second year u get one month fabric internship like arvind and raymonds and usually u dnt get any stipend for the same after that third year two months internship in any garment production unit and u may get some stipend during this internship and in last year there is 6 months graduation project is there where u get deep practical knowledge.

Placement is almost one hundred percent student from one nift can apply in another nift also for placement so its like all india placement opportunity is there if u are from mumbai but u want to work in delhi u can come to nift delhi on placement date and can apply in suitable companies.

Every year nift celebrates spectrum its three days college festival and takes place in the month of November where various activities take place in this main attraction is live concert and famous band comes and perform live.

Earlier it was not that expensive but now a days its 60k per semester i am not sure about current fee structure but you can visit the site for the same.

Loan you can take from any bank when u come for admission you will see so many banks and their staff in college premises and you can easily avail loan from them scholarship is just for BPL students for that you have to contact admin dept at the time of admission.

Campus life is cool and you can enjoy various activities also in college premises like tennis cricket. GYM facility is also available inside campus lab and library are very huge and you will get all you want to read.

Hostel is only for female student there is no hostel facility for boys they have to search room in nearby area or can take flat on a sharing basis. But its navi mumbai so rent is not that high and you get room easily in nearby area so many apartment is there mess food is ok and i dnt think any college mess provide good food.

There are so many alumni working in different companies and their database is available with college admin dept. Seniors are very supportive alumni helps in providing internships to newcomers.

As nift is about garment so lab is almost daily we have to attend stitching LAB and IT lab almost daily and it is not hectic like other engineering college u get assignment and after finishing assignment you can leave the lab overall its fun.
