Sonal Kumari's Review On DRIEMS University, Cuttack

The College at its first sight was appealing to me through its lush green campus spread over many acres of land. Driems itself has the best infrastructure u'll ever get to see. The Library catches the eye with its royal, spacious look where students could spent hours without getting bored from books. Swimming Pool, Sports Complex will just leave u awestruck with its magnificient look. Except the hostel and canteen Every department, blocks, library, recreation will make u feel as if u have visited the best Infrastructure ever. Yess, I too find this college suitable because it was under my budget than any other Private colleges offering btech.

The Course of Btech was same as other colleges. Our Department faculties has the best knowledge but could not match the level of how actually Btech professor should be. The way they deliver their lectures were difficult to understand due to mother tongue interference. Except one or two professors, others used regional language in taking lectures which was very difficult for students to understand. Faculties were helpful, tried their best but only could impart theoretical knowledge which made the lessons boring. We craved for industrial exposure so as to enhance our skills but what we got what just Notes, Theoretical lectures nd some laboratories where some experimental result are still pending which nowadays has become of no use. But yes not to forget faculties were always there to motivate for higher education.

Very Few companies visit the college.College has now gained Autonomous Status so definitely this could increase. But In our time 4-5 companies visit only for CSE providing 3 LPA package and these are the companies u have not heard the name yet. Only 1-2 companies rarely visit for ME or Civil with the minimum average package. Other branches could not expect these also ( Core Companies are way out of ur dream, IT companies are where u can land but still these IT companies are least known companies ) Students can rely for Off placement only but still since College has gained Autonomous status lets hope for the best.

College conducts one annual fest for btech students " Vasantika ". Vasantika holds various competitions in which students can explore themselves and win many awards. The last two days of vasantika is full of enjoyment with dance nd singing. Star Night are main attraction where only local stars are being called. Other functions include celebration in festivals which totally depends upon students.

Loan is availed only by SC/ST students. They will deceive you by saying that U can get scholarship on the basis of 12th marks or gradually on the basis of semester marks but trust me nothing happens. Only you have to pay the full fees time to time so as to avoid their constant repeated notice about paying fees.

Infrastructure of Driems was what which will leave you Speechless. The Lush green campus, wide area, beautiful guest houses for parents to spend 1-2 days inside college campus itself are praiseworthy. Library, Sports Complex will make ur eyes rub twice just Awstrucking. Only laboraties of CSE dept are well equipped with Air Conditioner but not others department. Laboratories have many equipment missing, is less spacious too.

Hostel is what U should think twice before coming to this college. A 3 seater room ( Only according to them ) will be provided in which forcefully 4 girls have to adjust. Hostel Mess is not upto the mark.Restrictions, Rules of the hostel are very strict but still is of no use. Its because only if u have few friends U could survive in hostel otherwise its better to take flat or Pgs in Cuttack ( Not to forget these other rental options are 22 km away from college for which college bus is provided but still it becomes too difficult )
