Best commerce college

College infrastructure is not so good as compared to other college. A part of our college is still under construction canteen of college is very small and the food provided by it is not hygienic. But in academics our collegehas been ranked second position in Chandigarh.

I didn't entered any entrance examination. The admission process in this college depends on the cut-off percentage which is often very high. Just 3 courses and few seats in the college makes it even more tougher for students to seek admissions at GCCBA 42. Moreover it was ranked second position in chadi hath on the basis of academics. I scored 92 % in 12 and because of which I am able to get admission in this college. Still with 92 % I didn't get admission in top college of chandigarh( SD college).

As the name of the college suggests it is only for commerce and business administration courses. There are only 3 courses at GCCBA, but this college is the number 1 choice of aspiring students. BBA,B.com,M.com. But now new courses will be added because now the college has been shifted to its permanent building and is bigger than than earlier.

The placement cell hosts on campus pre placement and placement activities of the corporate world and advises expert talks for diverse career option. Few months ago NIIT, TCS ,Bulls eye and time group came in our college for college counselling. Last year students got placed in many firms like godrej and Boyce,ebay and Young,genpect,airtel, trident group,nimble private limited,Schneider electric etc 5 students very placed in Ernst and Young with annual package of 240000.

Our college initiates various cultural activities to Nourish talent on large scale. Our students get the opportunity to participate in various events of punjab university heritage and youth festival We also celebrated freshers party in college. But it was not so good. A seminar was held by Bulls eye experts to train students for an interview and to give advice for a career option. Other seminars were also ob drug addiction and seminar for how to prepare for group discussions. New face icon event was held in our college. Swachh Bharat abhiyan was also organised in our college.

Our college offers various schloarships and concessions to deserving students. The meritorious and financially weak students are helped through scholarships worth 30000 per year. They also provide concessions on bus fares. SC students and children of safai karamchari are helped by giving 30000 per year. But the procedure is seriously very lengthy.

Recently our college has been shifted to its permanent building in sector 50. Before our new building our college building was on rent and was very small. Apart from this, excellent facilities for sports,recreation are available to students which are complemented with freshers party,society function and these events are hosted by our college students of college management club (gestione). Every year our college organises talent hunt event to provide opportunities to talented students to show their talent in dance,drama,photography etc college has smart classrooms and the entire campus is connected to wifi.

If we talk about hostel our college does not have its own hostel. But the have made arrangements with various institutions. For girls there are around 20-25 seats in working women's hostel in sector 24 and 10 seats in state institute of education sector 15. For boys there are around 15 seats in general hostel sector 15 students pay rent around 4500 -5500 including food. Students can also get wifi with some additional charge.

Our college has an Alumnus which encourages reunions with the Alma-mater. The college strongly believes in having a long lasting relationship between the old students of the college and the new incumbents. Alumni association organised various lectures by different speakers on topic of current interst of members. Moreover my experience with my college seniors is awesome. Ragging is strictly ban in our college. A toll free number is provided by our college to register complaint if any senior does such act.

We have one or two day holiday before the semester exam. But the class test and mid semester test are frequent and that gives us more tension because our internal assessment is based on number scored mid semester test and assignment and presentations given by our teachers.

Faculties are employed on strict basis. The qualifications of the faculties match the requirements of of university's rule. They make every effort to help students to gain valuable knowledge. They are highly competent and use every means to impart knowledge.
