Danish Nawaz's Review On Government College Of Engineering & Textile Technology - [GCETT], Behrampore

It is a decent govt college located in the 6th biggest city of west bengal and 2nd most advanced city after kolkata. The placement is average here and extracurriculum activies are reasons which can attract you. The campus has almost everthing which a student want from gym to canteen room. Overall it is a good college to have a btech degree and plan your carreer. I urge all to have a positive outlook for this college.

The college take admission from WBJEE rank and JEE MAINS rank. The college has 4 stream namely ME,CSE,TEXTILE,&EE engineering. The college has well equiped lab but there is a scarcity of faculty professors.

The college usually send there students to durgapur power plant for training. But a student can also apply for internship where he wish to work. There is no stipend given for internship but there are lots of merit base stipend which are enjoyed by student. On an average each student can avail a stipend of Rs 25000 approx per year from various schemes.

There is granted 100% placement for textile engineers and 70% for cse engineers. As mechanical and electrical departments are new so less number of students got placed here. Last year highest annual package was 9 lakh offered to a textile student. However mechanical students are goining goood inspite of being an early bird in this college there have likely to have a glorious carreer opportunity.

The college celebrate a huge number of events from saraswati puja to annual fest and from college alumuni reunion to annual sports prize distributing ceremony. You can never bore here. Various cultural and educational activities occur every 2nd week.

Being a govt college the fee structure are quite low. There is a semester fee of 6000 per semester for cse and rs 4000 per semester for each of mechanical,textile,and electrical engineering.

There are various scholarship like minority scholarship,chief minister scholarship,merit cum means scholarship for which you can apply and avail upto 30,000 per year.

The college campus is well furnished. There are good cleanlines everwhere. The college has its own library a well equiped lab,common rooms lots of indoor games equipments,outdoor volleyball ground and a canteen.

The hostel facility is poor. Very dirty the fooding facilty is just average. You can have paying guest house nearby to live a sustainable life.

The alumuni here are at very high post earning about upto 10 lacs per month or even more. They often come to boost us give us seminar about diiferent ways of opportunity. The alumuni are very helpfull and friendly.

There is semester exam which after every 6 months. There is a huge examination hall where students of all stream gave exams under camera survillence.

However there are less number of faculties for mechanical but talking about othere faculties there is no problem with it. Faculties of taxtile engineering are noteworthy here. They are highly intellectual and have high degrees.
