IEM kolkata is the best private college of West bengal. You have to score under 1000 rank to select branch of your choice now as shibpur university no more comes under WBJEE exams. College assist you with good placement opportunities.But the bad thing is college infrastructure is not big. You wont get big parks,ground,gardens here but you will get everything what you will require for your course and studies. College is more or less like a School i.e come in proper uniform,prayer in the morning,exact time to enter and leave the college but finally what you will have is a JOB at the time of leaving this college and I think for a fresher that matters most.

I have Taken admission in this college through WBJEE examination my rank was 1675 and I have taken this college because it has good placement records every year and for CSE branch this college is best after Jadavpur University of West Bengal.

College follows the sylabus of WBUT and in case of elective paper choice will be your's that which paper you want to study.

For internship actually you have to search yourself for companies and college will provide you necessary letter's or watever the company will ask from college. It depends totally on your talent,progamming and technical skills. Sometimes college also Gives you reference for Companies and the general stipend will be between 6000 to 10000.

Placement is the most positive point of this college as it gives the best placement opportunity than any other colleges of west bengal last year also placement was approx 100% and this year also out of 360,338 students are placement and also placements are going on 3 more companies are still in row currently this year TCS,ERICSSON,NRI FINTECH,TECH MAHINDRA,CAPGIMINI and ABZOOBA came. Web spider,Global ids and Some other companies will also come in next few weeks. Highest pay package given by ABZOOBA i.e 7 lpa,TCS offered 3.34,ERICSSON 3.6,NRI FINTECH 4.25.

College Celebrates Many Events Like cultural fest,Tech Fest every year apart from these there are many functions celebrated every year but two fest i.e cultural fest and tech fest are celebrated in a grand way includein dj night and other compitions also. Tech fest includes robotics compitions,maths quiz and many more.

Fee structure is feasible when you compare it with fee structure of other colleges of South.It has a semester fees of 37500 in the 1st year 38500 in the 2nd year 39500 in the third year and again 38500 in the final year.

If you are 1st graduate of your family and you can show proof of that then you can study in the college almost free i.e 500 rs per semester only. There are also scholarship exams time to time in colleges. If you have talent and good marks (above 70%) in 10th and 12th then surely you can avail them.

College has a complete ragging free environment gender ratio is approx 65 boys 35 girls but the college has a very strict environment. You will remember your school days while studing here. Colleges conducts fests you can enjoy fully that time hostel party depends upon you guys how want to celebrate college provide each and every facility of high quality if that is required for your studies whether it is workkshop. Labs library or anything but cultural life is not too good here. You have to be in Rules and Regulations all the time.

College hostels are Good but not of that high standard and you have to pay a sum of approx 65000 at the starting of every year which includes rent and fooding. Rooms are shared with 2 or 3 guyz and they provide good wifi facility. You can also take PG which cost approx 6000 per month including fooding and lodging in the locality.

I have meet many alumni of our colleges and they are well settled in their life many of them are in Google and microsoft like companies also."College Gives you a big support at the time of placements and It gives you a big support at the start of carrier"many seniors said these word and i will say the same wordings to mu juniors also.

Exam happens usually as per MAKAUT(WBUT) Schedule but per sem college takes two internal exams lab exams sometimes online exams that you can give from your home also. Apart from exams you will have your lab routine every day of 3 hour approx. It depends on how many lab papers you were having in the semester.

Faculty's are very helpful and of good standard they will help you in each and every study matter and also lab facilities are next to awesome.
