Soon after completing my BA course, I was looking for an admission in MA English and the best option in front of my was CMS College. It is the first Western-style College and one of the first colleges established in India. The College is founded by the Church Missionary Society of England. This is the leading reason behind choosing this College. The College is best known for its beautiful campus of nearly 3,87,000 sq.ft of built area. Above all, it is an Autonomous Institution having every right to independently conduct examinations and publish results.
Course Curriculum Overview
Since the College was changed into an Autonomous Institution, the syllabus has been slightly changed and now it is perfect. Examinations are held up-to-date without any delay and everything is notified properly. One of the best things you're blessed with in CMS College is the faculties there. They're talented and very supportive. Susan Mathews, Faculty of the Department of English is the favourite of many.
Placement Experience
Our College is blessed with a Career Guidance and Placement Cell which actively works for the placement and career of the students. Proper assistance is provided by them and a number of job opportunities from different companies/agencies such as TCS, CTS, Sutherland, Goan Institute and so on. 19 students even got placed in Goan Institute Consociation of Education during the year 2020.
College Events
Every CMSian is blessed with a wonderful campus life. There are myriads of events organised in the College and each event promises the participation as well as enhancement of students. Many cultural, management, literary fests are annually organized. Students are perfectly provided platform to express themselves.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are fee concessions for those who belong to the reservation classes. eGrants are also there. For those who belong to the general category, Post Matric scholarship, Central sector scholarship and Higher education scholarship are certain scholarship facilities.
Campus Life
CMS College is equipped with the best infrastructures including LCD projectors, smart boards, conference halls, seminar rooms, separate libraries for UG and PG students, and well equipped laboratories. There are about 8 laboratories, perfectly maintained computer labs and language labs. Library is such spacious that there are Reference sections and IT zone in it. The issue, return, renewal, everything is computerised.
