Improve the Placement cell and hire good professional for Training and Placement Officer. Don't change your officer at last time when placement are at sake.
Entrance Preview
WBJEE was the entrance. I had a rank of around 3000. This was a good college for that rank in 2008 and also for outside state students government colleges were not in option. So this was the best option.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course structure and curriculum is good and has all major subjects covered. Faculties were trained but language was a barrier in the initial days. Later we accommodated well to the situation. Our labs were pretty old and congested though in the new campus these things are improved and proper now.
Internships Opportunities
We didn't had that much of internship experience through college. Infosys came for Java training but that too was charged from student for availing them.
Placement Experience
In our final and previous year we had some great numbers placed. Cognizant, Infy and Wipro were major companies. For our batch Cognizant took 60% of the eligible strength. Package varied from 2.5 to 6 L depending on the company. Other small companies also organised pool campusing in which students from other colleges came and participated.
College Events
TechFest(TechTrix) and Cultural Fest(Regalia) used to happen every year.It was quite big and students from other colleges also participated in those fests.We used to book Nazrul Manch for Regalia and try to call good performers based on our budget like Monali Thakur, Abhijit Sawant and Other Bengali Bands.
Fee Structure And Facilities
One disadvantage of the college is that we don't have a college hostel. Everyone is a day scholar there. College canteen food was good though.Our college would lose full marks for not having college hostel as it was a trouble for students coming from other staying nearby college as we won't be having any idea if the place and may end up in wrong mess.
Fees and Financial Aid
As our college was Semi-Government one so it was provided with Financial Aids for providing Half/Full Scholarships to needy and deserving students based on their Family Income and Marks.
Campus Life
Our campus life was awesome. We used to have lots of activities like gully cricket, football on a regular basis. Also gaming and robotics events were a trend.Labs condition needed to be improved as it gets overcrowded sometimes. We had a good gender ratio. In CS and IT it was almost equal.
Alumni/Alumna
We don't have such a good Alumni network but college tries to keep contacting Alumni through mails, phones.I suggest it needs to be improved.
