National institute of technology rourkela has a great reputation and rank among the universities in india.It is an institute of National importance and has one of the best infrastructure among the institutes in India.The quality of Education and the faculty standard were known to be top notch.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is similar to other institutions.Practical knowledge is seldom considered.Rote learning and mugging up is essential in most subjects to attain a high grade.Most of the faculties arent really interested in teacher except a few of them.
Placement Experience
The placement opportunities are good enough compared to other institutions.There is a really high placement rate for Cs and circuital branches.Several companies visit Nit rourkela during the placement season.Also some companies select pre final years for interrnships.
College Events
The best thing of the NITRKL which makes it different from others is it's club culture. There are so many clubs. You can do and learn everything apart from academics as well. There are so many clubs of dancing, singing, drama, social life, politics,photography,programming, yoga, fashion etc. Chapters of ASM, ASME,AIChE etc. If you're good in sports. You can join badminton,basketball,volleyball,football,cricket, water polo,swimming, table tennis, tennis etc and softball is about to start. It has awesome grounds of almost every sports. And yeah, NITRKL has it's awesome swimming pool(as many IITs, NITs don't have).It has a awesome central gym. And a perticular gym for each hostel(for casual exercises), It has Central library.
Campus Life
NIT Rourkela is spread over 1024 acres making it one of the largest campuses in the country. Also it is filled with greenery.There are currently 7 boys hostels in the campus and 2 girls hostel.Several other important places in the campus are the backpost, your hostel life, SAC, LA(LECTURE avenue), BBA(auditorium), Rangcol(canteen),GOLDEN JUBLIE.
Hostel Facilities
GDB hostel in first year boys hostel and one of the best in the campus.Each hostel has a mess and a garden in front of it.There is hall fest and garden fest held once a year for all hostels.Most of the hostels are dual occupancy.
