Remarks

the biggest consideration was that dbit had 51% catholic minority reservation for all the engineering programs. There are other colleges which have this reservation, but relatively dbit has good campus facilities and well equipped labs. I had been to many other colleges before filling out the forms and i felt this campus was really good. There are a very few engineering colleges in Mumbai which have a ground. During the campus visit i saw, dbit had 3 separate in-campus grounds for respective sports. So this was also a significant driving factor to take admission in this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

computers is a subject which has gained rapid popularity. Faculties are are really good and always ready to help. THey are thorough with their subject and easy to approach. Encouragement is always there from their side for us to take part in extra-curricular activities. overall a good teaching staff

Placement Experience

4

there is a placement cell in dbit which helps students get on campus job interviews right after graduation. the college organizes talks on various topics where industry experts come and give insights to bridge the gap between what is there in the syllabus and what the industry actually requires or expects out of the students. It really helps when we are actually looking out for a job and already know what companies actually expect from us. For this the college encourages students to keep doing small courses to build the skill sets in area not covered in the syllabus.

College Events

4

There are 2 fests every year, cultural and tech fest. The only downside here is other colleges are not invited in either of them (although you are allowed to get friends from other colleges). the sports events are quite fun, there are a lot of events that happen through out the fest month. Apart from fests there are various student clubs which keep organising events or talks on different topics. During vacations there are vocational courses, hands on workshops, industry visits, etc.

Campus Life

dbit has great lab facilities and that being said, not only for computer science but all the 4 engineering programs have well equipped labs. There is a huge workshop for mechanical and ITI. there are about 7 labs for computers an IT. there is a canteen, which is kind of average. There is a huge football ground, a full sized basketball court, volley ball court and separate rooms for indoor games. The library is also quite huge, great collection of books for all subjects and a really very quiet environment to spend quality time studying (not during exams and submission deadlines)

Placement Experience:

During my time the first company that visited our organization was Naukri.com, and feel proud to say that i got placed in the same organization. I am very happy with my placement. But talking about my peers. Number of companies who visited to our institute was compared to low as per our expectations. Majority of the companies who visited the institute were sales based organizations. Very less companies for finance and HR field. This made a difficult call for students.
