Remarks

Among the colleges I had converted, I chose IIM Ranchi on the basis of ROI, Placements, Batch Diversity and the insights I received from my seniors about the pedagogy and the methods of teaching used by the faculties.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is well designed. The faculties here use case study methods to teach and discuss about various concepts, so that we can connect the theoretical knowledge with the real world. The faculties also use platforms like Google classroom so that the discussion can be happened outside the class hours as well.

Class Size: 72Course Fees: INR 1010000 per year

Placement Experience

4.5

Capgemini, IBM, Infosys for profiles in IT Analytics, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Maruti Suzuki for Sales and Marketing profiles, JPMC,HSBC for finance profiles and Amazon and Tata Steel for profiles in Operations.

College Events

Being a 1st year student, I haven't got the opportunity to enjoy the campus life due to Covid-19 but I know that IIM RANCHI conduct AGON - The management fest where students participate in various competitions.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facility is available for every student. Rent - Rs 9000 per term. There is mess, canteen, coomon room, dispensary, fully equipped music room, a fitness centre and a conference room for informal meetings. Housekeeping services are also provided.

Hostel Fee: INR 48000 per year

The Summer Internship Placement Process happens in September to October of the first year. The lateral final placement process (for those students with required level of work experience) begins in November - December of the 2nd year. Placement Experience:

You get Summer internship placements as well as final placements. There is 100% placements every year and the highest package can be around 1 cr and lowest at 18 lakhs. This year due to market conditions, these figures can go down.

My experience at XLRI Jamshedpur

Placement Experience:

XLRI provides both SIP and Final placement opportunities. The SIP process begins in the month of September and the final placements during the months of Dec-Feb. 100 percent of the students get placed. The highest stipend for the SIP 2024 was 3.5 lakh per month, the average being 1.5 lakh+.

Remarks:

Our college is the fastest growing IIM in the country, we have already surpassed other B-Schools that we are normally compared to in terms of placements. At IIM Ranchi, students are offered international placements as well and as per the stats, in 2019, the highest international package was 58.1 LPA. The average package is also decent at 15.02 LPA. Domestic highest package here was 26 LPA, which is a great return on investment, if you see.

Remarks:

Amongst all the new and baby IIMs, IIM Ranchi clearly wins the game with respect to the pedagogy and the facilities that it provides. The campus is known for providing single occupancy room to all the students. Also, the average placement is highest here.
